My own headcanon for Checkpoint is that the modern Mesa isnt actually Mesa instead it is plan by the real Mesa it goes like this,Mesa employed a very comedic Ancient to pretend to be very silly and dumb so Steve and G.U.I.D.O lower their guard as they think Mesa has changed a bit.Meanwhile the Real Mesa pulls the strings and allowed Skibidi into the dimension and is planning to invade the Checkpoint while the duo is fighting other Mesa in another dimension.
