This is a horribly twistee little universe.

If it isn't obvious already, this first leg of the game is pretty rough, so let me balance this out by saying something nice…
Jump countering in this game is VERY satisfying. Something about the half-second of hangtime before you drop on an enemy, accented with a stomp sfx I swear they made crunchier.
…I'm sure people don't like the extra hangtime, but just like using A for Luigi in battles, I got used to it quickly, so hmph.
8:13 People on twitter disagree
So, what do you think of the new composer for this game?
24:21 Or a Sparks of Hope character
Just finished this game yesterday. Did not want it to end at all. Final rating from me-9.25
20:14 – Nah, the joke here is that both "bug" and "pig" are three-letter words that end with a G, so Snoutlet's going through a few more of those just to be safe :V
My guess with the recolor stuff is they wanted newer players to get used to the same sorts of attacks, and didn't want to introduce too many new enemies so people could get the hang of it with the same sorta thing. But also, they could've at least had Twistee Island have its own unique enemy, even if it was similar to the floating… whatever those are supposed to be?

you could have actually made her move down there if you talked to her again.
I do like the music on Twistee Island
8:45 SMG signs are better npcs than what i see in this game…
The plot was not even present in this universe or the 4 nearest.
I hope for your own sanity that the game gets faster paced, this looks more like a chore than a game
Holy Hylia's mammaries, 30 minutes of joy! You spoil us, Skawo 🙂
1:36 The Spamton revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
0:28 Mario & Luigi, it's called Twistee Island, not Fusion Island. (Unrelated but i like Twistee island's music)
28:52 If you talked to Maykit again here, she would have went down to perform on stage.
18:45 So I assume you made it to The Choise™ and chose to let Luigi do it?
Also, your commentary was on fire this time! Got a few laughs from me! What sort of let's player black magic did you channel to think of these comments?
22:57 Or PiT time tunnel swirl thing…
seeing X and Y hammer indicators is so cursed to me
See, this island is representative of the problem I have with post-Gamecube Mario lore.
Look, I get it alright. I get the complaints about generic characters and enemies. I get the lack of ambition with narrative. But this? This is just WAY too far in the opposite direction. There is no rhyme or reason behind any of these creative decisions. They're just unique and different for the sake of being unique and different! And you know what? I could forgive this if Mario ever bothered to expand on any of its characters but it never goddamn does! It's to the point where you're lucky to see the same character two games in a row now!
Say what you will, but I'm starting to agree with Miyamoto. Scale back. Focus on established characters and give them some more depth. That seems a lot more productive to me than making unique characters who will just end up in the dumpster at the end of the game.
Twistee is… a mystery, honestly. It feels like filler, but it also just barely scrapes the edge to… not be? It's strange.
I can at least say with confidence that out of every island, this is probably my least favorite. The music gets repetitive really fast, and feels way to upbeat for how meandering pacing around here feels. And half of the place is a forest we never have to visit ever again. Dyode is also… a handful (yes, we'll see him again – of course, an NPC with a model THAT unique has to show up at least twice), having a one-track mind for dancing… even in times of great emergency. The kind of guy who'll scream at the Bros. to bust it down before they're allowed to extinguish any flames that might be actively consuming his body. I… honestly don't get it at all. Maybe he's just a big Mirror B fan/wannabe, or something.
Maybe they added him just to make that little dancing minigame relevant? And thus built this whole surrounding environment to justify it all even more? I have… no idea. It's all so… out of place.
We do, at least, get mention of the Great Conductor. To include some positivity, the game does a pretty good job with it's mysteries – as this really is the only place the mysterious guardian spirit will come up for a long while. The… "sculpture"… also does a good job of making them much more mysterious than the Zeekeeper (though, to be fair, the Zeekeeper was much more prominent in all the architecture and Tourist-y silliness of Dream Team), as it's just sort of a rocky mound with a hairy face. Guy is round, has a mustache. Basically a solid portion of Mario 64's boss roster.
(*Some* Invisible blocks do actually contain worthwhile goodies, I should mention… but those ones are in more obvious, out-of-the-way places. A pointless ledge, a dead-end corridor… the kind of places you'd expect treasure to be hidden, anyway. They're not Untold Riches, of course, but still…)
25:17 First you do this move, then this move, then dance the rest of the fucking dance
A rare, lengthy Skawo upload
I assume Dyode performs in One Direction?
Just like to inform you of the crazy recap youtube gave me. You were my number one creator i watched. I was in the top .01% and watch 258 times more of you than the average watcher. This most likely has to do with the fact ive been going through the zelda games and i put your vids on and often fall asleep so i can watch the same vid like 5 times when trying to finish a series
