I have the wolves at lvl 6, they're actually so good.
My favorite summon is the mimic tear. I literally makes a 1:1 copy of your character, with really good ai and depending on your build, great support and tankiness. It also uses HP to summon so you don't need to spend FP.
i like the wolves if i wanna be sneaky, they don't attack unless you do…or the entire situation goes fubar
or if I just want a ton of chaos, those 5…or was it 6… demi humans are my go to, they have that WAAAAAGH energy
Ima be honest, those are amazing summonns but the Demigods are my favorites, then the rat, then good ol jelly, but the dimigods gives you 5 spirits, they distract nnnd attack, nd they spread out nd attack enemies who are invisible also they scream to let you know whos near by, pretty fun!

How can you not even mention the two skeleton warriors you can get directly from the start of the game by killing this useless boatsman boss?
I think they are the best summon in the game because they will resurrect themselves when they die, which makes boss fights WAY more simple.
There is also a Rotten dog summon in the City Sellia. He can apply scarlet rott on the enemie where you can watch them die. Imo really helpful against some bosses where he can survive long enough to apply it

The skeletal summons are by far the best imho. They can self-revive so they practically never quit fighting. You can get 3 skeletal archers later in the game, but I find the two militia skeletons good too
1:20 she showed up for me and i never met the first boss yet. I think the trigger is just making sure you talk to her "alot" until her dialogue repeats in that broken shack. She was at the round table the moment i arrived the first time.
Only expensive one i have is the carmaan that costs 124 for to summon
I have the puppet duo at +10, I HIGHLY recommend
I found a pumpkin head guy summon costs 110 FP
The five shield bros are my favourite. They're ridiculous ranks and holy shit they bash the fuck out of anything in their way. Its hilarious, everything focuses them and they're so hard to kill. Gives you loads of room to just slap enemies about
The storm king ash item makes me wonder if we may get boss summons ( weakened of course ) because it seems from the description we might have to fight it first. If not summonable bosses then hopefully a dlc will let us summon them anywhere . Even if we can only do it once per creature before having to go to grace bonfire to restock. And only one at a time of course.
Guys the jellyfish is amazing, has a Lot of health, when the acid spit hit It draws enemy aggro so you can get some free hits
i have the battlemage hugues summon it cost 122 fp but he’s pretty good honestly
Just a heads up, I skipped the first boss by going round the outside of the castle and she moved into the roundtable hold. So you can upgrade ashes before you fight the first main boss.
Just wait until some of you guys get the mimic tear summon. It's an exact copy of your character. Gear and all including the same amount of potions
If you go back to the cabin you originally find Roderika in there should be a flask upgrade item where she was sitting, only after she's at the round table.

This mechanic in Elden Ring is such a clever move by Fromsoft. Taking in animals and creatures into battle with you as opposed to just NPC's from previous games adds a little more connection to them. If we ever get a Demons/Dark/Borne sequel, I can see this returning in some fashion.

The stray is pretty easy to get very early like 10 min into a play through if you run it down and can cheese the shit out of most bosses and encounters. He’s got decent hp, applies scarlet rot that doesn’t go away once it is in affect, he also dodges way more effectively then most other summons IMO. Oh yeah and he costs 35 fp…
I only use like the jelly and the wolf tbh the rest is too much… tho I really like the hawk for a side boss, jelly for the hard boss since helly have alot of health, and lastly wolf for dealing with a huge group of enemy
Skelly militiamen are the GOAT, unless the boss constantly throws room-clearing AoEs
I’m just using the ancestral follower, which is tanky has a bow and when melee uses his axes
we came so close to Necromancer in souls games… yet still so far away
The jellyfish allowed me to beat Margit solo at level 8 as prophet
