How F-35 'Beast Mode' makes the advanced jets even more lethal

A Royal Navy commodore who is the Naval Attaché to the USA has spoken about how F-35Bs operating in ‘Beast Mode’ from HMS Prince of Wales are helping to push the jets’ capabilities.

The Royal Navy carrier has been training with US aircraft ahead of her deployment to the Indo-Pacific region in 2025, where she will lead a Carrier Strike Group.

Commodore Roger Readwin told Forces News: “It’s all about lethality, it’s about how do we take this capability and exploit it.”

  1. Yet we are still being invaded by the worlds rubbish on small boats and destroyed 🤔 hmmmm, it’s almost as if you don’t serve the British public and exist to protect a bunch of globalist/Zionists that hate us.

  2. Trying to get top kit on the cheap by using US f35 rather than buying our own, this country no longer has the ability to launch a stand alone operation like the Falklands, embarrassing politicians going back decades have sold us down the river to the point where we are now a defence force rather than a proper military

  3. Whenever they say that US planes can operate off UK carriers I become concerned that the UK may not be allowed to operate it's carriers where it likes.

It's been pretty obvious since Suez that the UK is stopped operating where it wishes, without USA say so. Yet in relying so heavily on US kit instead of developing it's own, and now having the USA deploy on it's carriers is a whole new level. Where will it end?

  4. We need every fighter in the Pacific and yet we are wasting time cover the Brits ass so that their politicians can spin this "muh interoperablity" nonesense because thier government is stupid enough to buy two carriers without aircraft! I hope they are at least paying for the wear and tear of OUR jets flying from THIER ships. This is ridiculous!

  5. No mention of increased defence spending, in last weeks autumn statement, a new populist leader in Argentina, whose aim is to regain the Falklands, looking good for future deployment for our two carriers and our under resourced armed forces.

  6. This civil servant – who is evidently not accustomed to giving interviews – did nothing more than use a lot of buzz words. He said nothing. The F35B is fundamentally flawed; it is over weight and, with only one engine, under powered.

  7. Alright…so clickbait then? You didn't even discuss what beast mode means, the weapon loads etc. If we don't start getting some decent videos then do you think people will actually pay attention to this? We are PAYING for this content through taxes…give us our moneys' worth.

  8. What a waste of time the video told me nothing other then they are working with the USMC but we all know that it told us nothing what “BEAST MODE”is. I’m sure it’s just hype for public relations.😡

  9. Imagine Australia’s two LHDs being upgraded to operate B models as well. They have the ski jump designed just for that, and the Spanish vessels of the same class can. It’s been argued that the cost would not be high, and the advantage way higher.A single squadron of B models operated by the RAAF would add flexibility to both the RAAF and the RANs LHDs, and time on station at longer ranges to Australia’s existing F-35A fleet which would need tankers and time to perform the same tasks.

Interoperability with the RAN, RN and USN already happens, so I don’t see why this couldn’t include all three doing cross-deck operations either.

  10. Will UK F-35Bs be getting any of the following:
    – HARM, AARGM, AARGM-ER
    – JASSM, JASSM-ER, JASSM-XR
    – SiAW
    – JSM
    – JDAM, JDAM-ER, Powered JDAM
    – FC/ASW
    – The BriteCloud decoy

I know the UK F-35Bs will be getting Meteor and SPEAR 3 in Block 4. When will SPEAR EW enter service with the UK's F-35Bs?

Do F-35Bs have an EPIRB emergency locator in case one crashes into the sea?

  11. Could Taranis be RATO-launched from the QE and PoW?

If so, it would make sense to get Taranis into production I'd have thought for very long-range, very long-endurance, stealthy, ISTAR and UCAV capability. We're going to need that sort of range in the event of a war with China.
