Actually; Artie was supposed to be holding the ladder for his father while he was installing the antenna and he fell. The reason why was Artie wasn't there holding the ladder for his father was; he was out partying with his friends. Artie knew it was his fault that his father became paralyzed & that's why he went down that drunken & druggie path. It's his guilt that got him to where he is. I really hope Artie gets help! His dad saved him a so many many times, I wish Artie could feel him .. numbing mind and soul to avoid the intense grief and pain .. who doesn’t get that ! Rd was great on the Stern show, never heard of him before that. However, I don’t think his stand-up comedy is really funny at all. Great books, mediocre comedy.
