Here's How Often My CHEAP F-250 BROKE In The 3 YEARS I Owned It

I bought the cheapest 2018 Ford F-250 from CarMax 3 years ago with a Bumper-To-Bumper warranty. After driving it for 3 years I picked up a new one and we’re going to drop this truck off at the auction where it will sell later in the week. The real question is was the CarMax MaxCare warranty worth it? We’re going to go over all the numbers on repairs and cost of ownership to decide whether you need the warranty in typical use cases. I think it’s great for peace of mind, but you can decide whether you need it or not based on my numbers!

My 2018 will be for sale at Farhas Used Cars in Wichita on Monday: https://www.farhausedcars.com/

  1. I would say the used car market craziness helps with accepting the issues, but fuel lines falling off, fuel systems needing replaced immediately upon taking possession and the entire front end needing replaced inside of 100K seems like a lot to me.

  2. Are you sure the adaptive braking isn’t a setting that needs to be adjusted. My girls new explorer has crazy settings. There was one that would change the tension on the steering wheel during a swearing event.

  3. Still got my ‘11 GMC 2500HD duramax, 212k miles. Still awesome. Replaced seat 3 times, steering wheel twice and carpet once. Other than that, brakes and tires. I’m keeping it. These are so crazy $$ now brand new I just can’t do it. You are smart for trading now. Great vids JR! (Maybe lay off the Fords and switch it up bub.)

  4. Ford has stepped up their truck game lately. I bought a used 2016 F-150 5.0 two months ago. I use it for construction (loading and installing insulation in new homes) and I love it. Not crazy over dodge or GMs offering be it gassers or diesels
