Hazezon, Shaper of Sand (Commander / EDH Deck Tech)

I’ve always thought that the original Hazezon makes a pretty cool deck, so when a new Hazezon was spoiled in Dominaria United I knew I had to do a deck tech.

So you get two deck techs in as many weeks, so don’t get used to that. Special case because I was just really excited for this Hazezon.

  1. Your channel is really underrated. For a such a high production value (with all the animations and such), I am surprised to see so few subscribers. I just watched your Codie Maze's End deck the other day and it was such a fun idea!

  2. I like Elvish Reclaimer/Crop Rotation. Sylvan Safekeeper lets you protect Hazezon and have a free sac outlet so you can replay Deserts. Knight of Alara/Lovisa Coldeyes/Jetmir can pump your tokens (though that makes Skullclamp less good.) Btw, Lotus Field is really nice, since it can sac Deserts that you can just replay.

  3. I think any "unblockable"-equipment is better than harmless offering because you invest 3 mana and a land, that you also donate to a player, just to be unblockable to that one player.

  4. Jetmir, bess soul nourisher, Rabble Rousing and moraug fury of akoum are all all star cards in my hazezon deck. Playing jetmir as my 9th creature than swinging with a board full of suddenly keyword soup creatures is great.

Then being able to play and extra land per turn + harrow/springbloom/roiling regrowth means 5 combat steps total with moraug. Even with no other buffs and like 8 creatures who could attack I was able to kill all the other players that turn.

I also put in sprouting goblin and goblin trenches for land sacrifice.
