I know I'm not a super hardcore Fire Emblem fan so if the more hardcore fans prefer this progression that's fine, but I do think I preferred 3 Houses' unit development and training. I liked being handed a bunch of mostly blank slates you could build in certain directions from day one rather than this game's reclassing that reminds me more of Shadows of Valentia.
Ended up restarting chapter 5 myself and then doing a turn 1 warp Ragnarok kill on the thief. The rest of the opening part of the map was much more turtleable.
You should give Sigurd to Louis – he becomes an unstoppable God.

Anyone else played on maddening? Hows it compared to 3 houses? Really loved maddening on 3 houses.
