  1. I really feel like outlets should be pulling real artists and game devs in on these conversations on palworld.

Because as a professional artist, the takes im seeing this week about what "is fine" re copyright are shockingly off base. Takes from people I genuinely trust and respect and don't think have any ill will here, but are just not informed on this topic.

  2. With Palworld, both breeding and combining does come into play. I haven’t touched that yet. You can also select different attacks/abilities as they level up. Lots of ways to min/max pals. Dungeon diving and overworld boss fights start to become the bigger focus. Fighting a hard boss while cycling through your Paldeck using badass tanks, dps, support types becomes pretty fun. It’s not super deep, but you do need to have a good team of powerful Pals for the hard boss fights.

  3. "I know theyre are likely engaging in copyright infringement i just dont care.."

Statements like this make me wanna turn a podcast off.

To be clear im not waging any campaigns on social media against palworld..i dont use socials. Just dissapointed the guys i watch everyday have less principles than id like…doesnt really matter for shit its just souring the otherwise great viewing.

  4. tekken is just too overbearing with the dlc.this game will end up being over $200 to play all the characters. I love tekken and play every one to this day but I don't pay for any of them

  5. I came across an interesting take on the topic of whether Nintendo would take Pocket Pair to court. It seems like Nintendo is only interested in going to court if they're absolutely sure they'd win (can't blame em). The possibility of them suing, losing in court, and ultimately setting a legal precedent that could wind up harming them in the future, TERRIFIES Nintendo. So unless they find clear and indisputable evidence of something being lifted wholesale out of Pokémon, Palworld should be safe to continue doing its thing.

And also, it doesn't matter, AT ALL. This is Nintendo. And Pokémon. It's arguably the biggest global gaming IP. They'll be absolutely fine.

  6. If Pokemon was good Palworld wouldn't even be a blip on the radar. All these other issues with Palworld right now are conjecture and projection. I don't like any of the derivative works and game genres Palworld pulls from. That said Pocket Pair is onto something and you can hate it all you want but they're still onto something.

I hope Nintendo doesn't just try to sue their way out and instead improves Pokemon. I think the reason they haven't sued so far is they know they don't have a leg here. How long have we known this game was coming and what the theme was and yet Nintendo didn't sue? Bringing Pokemon to a modern standard would be a cheaper and ultimately more profitable tactic.

  7. Tekken 8's chance of success is probably pretty good. 7 straight up outsold Street Fighter V so Capcom's off-years led to a massive period of growth for Bandai, so there's a much bigger user base compared to previous Tekkens to pick up on a sequel.

The only real confounding factors are that Street Fighter VI is on a much stronger footing compared to V, and word on the vine is that (more crucially) Tekken's netcode might still be pretty stodgy. I'm not expecting it to outperform Street Fighter this time around, but I think it'll do great regardless.
