  1. check options, you can change settings so the gem sockets on your gear is always showing, you can enable small HP bar over your head and for enemies, change the look and size of your mouse cursor and change transparency settings, size and opacity of the overlay map (TAB). many players play with the map open in the middle of the screen on low 50% opacity or you can move it to the corner of the screen with arrow buttons on keyboard.. you ge used to it. gl hf

rarity types are gray common base 0 mod, blue magic 2 mods, yellow rare 3-6 mods, orange unique strong/ special mods
same goes for enemies, glowing monsters are rares have good loot but dangerous

  2. here's a tip … some gems are spells others are attacks … also to support them you MUST to have them >>Linked<< with the attack/spell you perform or they will not be supported therefore they will not get any bonuses from whatever gems you are socketing in your gear and you will only waste sockets for no reason at all … out of those attacks ….some can be used with a bow, some with a dagger, some with a mace, some with a claw… even some are specially made for wands …I would sugest to read more on them see where that takes you

  3. haha Enters special corrupted dark area with big glowing blue demon monkey "Why is it so hard all of a sudden?!"

all monsters and types have random modifiers that roll when they are created you got attack speed and freezing the worst comb for such a low lvl, you dont have to do it but Vaal side areas have very powerful gems and rewards.
different builds are good/better for different enemies, ranged attacks or bombs/mines could kill faster

  4. The key in surviving in the this game is dodging or do enough damage
If you're getting 1 shotted too much you're lacking +% increased life in the tree. Flat amount of +life can be found in non-weapon blue or yellow gear. Rule of +300 life per act
Further acts, act3 and higher, you will want to start prioritising elemental resistance as monsters start using spells. Blue and yellow items non-weapon gear can have these mods.
If you're lacking in damage a Totem that you can get in act 1 can help called Ancestral Protector. It give +% attack speed + uses your weapon's damage.
    Good luck!

  5. I"m so happy to see you do this again! I'm excited to see your next vids, but i'd really love to watch you stream. I'm sure I'm not alone. You have a very engaging and entertaining personality.

P.S. I LoL'd so hard on your leap slam death just as you were bragging about it ;p

  6. You are way behind in gear progression during leveling. Also since all mob drops are random there is no reason to kill things above what you can easily. If something is killing you or chunking you real hard just leave it. Your making yourself upset by stubbornly trying to kill stuff. Kill what you can easily and always look for upgrades.

  7. You can be "better" but "better" in this game is learning what to do to make your character stronger not being "better" in combat. Unintuitive but its a knowledge based game not a combat focused one.

  8. U could have just easily switched to sledgehammer u picked up and ground slam that thing in the vaal area, easily clear out that area in 1min. You are undergear and not using your support gem the right way..

  9. look for items on 3 or 4 holes for gems that are already linked, if they are yellow better, buy or look for flasks of your level…. sells 3 flask equal to npc to get a top-level bottle…….. to your bow you could also put attack gems

  10. Hey, just wanted to say I really enjoyed your videos and that you're playing the game exactly the way you're supposed to : enjoying it and figuring things out as you go.

You may think you're hitting a wall now and then, but taking a step back and reading what's what helps a lot.
If I have any advice that I haven't read before in the other comments, it's those two : don't hesitate to restart with a new character if you want to, you can always come back to the ones you've made before, and try to talk to the NPC and figure out what the lore is if you feel like it.

    Keep going, exile is freedom

  11. Loving this series bro, can't wait for more! Very glad to see you sticking with it. I know lots of people are giving advice, and it can be a bit overwhelming, but there are just a few main tips for the campaign that will help your experience to be smooth all the way through:

    1. Linked sockets are hugely important. Try to have at least a 3-link in each of your main gear slots, and upgrade when you can. Your skills will be very weak unless they have some decent support gems linked to them. It's also important to remember that attack skills get a lot of their damage from the stats of the weapon, so you'll want to upgrade your weapon around every 5-10 levels, while spell skills get most of their damage from gem levels. You'll still want to upgrade the weapon for spells, but it's not as vital as it is for attack skills.

    2. Life and elemental resistance rolls on your gear are more important than the defensive stats (armor/evasion/energy shield). If you find a piece of gear that has better defense stats, but doesn't have resists/life, then it might not be worth switching. Also, once you unlock your hideout, you can use the crafting bench to add life or resists to gear that you have. Your goal is generally to have at least 75% resistance in each element (Fire, Cold, Lightning), and around 300 life per act (so 300+ by the end of Act 1, 900+ by end of Act 3, and so on).

    3. Finally, there are a TON of regular mobs to kill compared to how many bosses you'll fight, so it's generally a good idea to have a good clearing skill that can affect a larger area or target more enemies at once. Some skills, like Double Strike, are designed more for single-target damage, and some are more for hitting lots of enemies at once, like Ground Slam or Sweep. Personally, I like to use skills that have really good clear with okay single-target damage, or have a clearing setup and then weapon swap to a single-target skill for bosses.

Obviously, with how flexible this game is, there are a lot of choices, and it's up to you to figure out what works for you and decide what you like and don't like. As long as you're having fun, that's all that matters, and I am having a blast watching your journey!

  12. the area you just entered is a optional area call Vaal Side area, and if you manage to complete it it'll drop a random vaal skill which works like an ultimate version of the original skill but need charge(by killing enemies) … so ya is pretty difficulty if you undergear, so far you're not loosing anything before act5, only after act5 you loose exp when die(-5% per death)
Edit1: If you like using strike skill(like glacial hammer), you may try buy Ancestral Call support in Act1 which gonna helps A LOT!

  13. there's something so therapeutic about watching new players getting bent over and complain about it being OP. The vaal side area death montage was especially enjoyable since you don't have to do it at all. Improve your game knowledge, improve your build and you will improve your game.

  14. If you want to try out Lake of kalandra you will need to start from zero. I would do that because you will have more fun in a league. You will be able to get more help in global chat which is always useful because on New league more people are playing

  15. I'm curious how much time are the recordings before you cut them up for youtube. There are delusional players on PoE subreddit that think a new player can get through the acts in like 20-50 hours, but it takes way longer than that in my opinion.

Just keep in mind the 10 acts are just the beginning after which you can decide if you want to play the endgame with 28374676782354823748 mechanics and shit :V

  17. You are playing an attack build, which means you need a good weapon to deal damage.
To translate what you where doing in minecraft terms:
You where trying to kill the ender dragon with your fists

You hadn't linked support gems to your main skills, so again in minecraft terms:
You had weakend 2 on you.

So yeah killing the boss is hard, also the boss had "Soul Eater" on him making that fight quite unlucky for you.
Soul Eater makes it faster for each creature that dies nearby.

If you want, you can try to do a restart as another class like: Templar or Witch. They mainly focus on spells which are much nicer for beginners as they don't require good weapons to deal damage.

  18. You had no damage and no defense, and surprisingly you couldnt fight a stronger enemy ^^"

This episode we learned that gear and preperation are integral parts of PoE. Of course you weren't able to do anything in that situation – you had to do something BEFORE that point, f.e. crafting/identifying gear with resistances and life. After a certain point the game just assumes you have a minimum amount of resists – and if you dont, you get oneshot with no way to play around it.

That said, I wish PoE showed you what kind of damage kills you, so you can see what you are lacking in gear right now.

Priority list for gearing while leveling:
    1. sockets + links (you want you main dmg skill to have 2-3 support gems to deal enough dmg)
    2. resistances (as much as possible, but also balanced)
    3. life
    4. armour/evasion

Thanks for making this series, I'm having fun watching you while playing the new League 🙂
