  1. Rachel, that was great! I bought an iPad last year, primarily to store my songbooks and because it had Garage Band loaded – but I couldn't work out how to use it. The only other videos I found seemed to assume you were at Pete Waterman's level!!
Now I can finally start to use it, thanks! Looking forward to more video from you on Garage Band.

  2. I don't have any Apple devices, but perhaps it would be worth it to get an iPad and keep my Android phone and Windows pc's. Or maybe there is a similar app that runs on Android tablets and phones.

  3. Ooh…thanks so much for this Rachel! It’s been on my iPad Pro for all these years & I hadn’t a clue what to do with it other than listen to some of the fantastic sounds available. I’m so looking forward to trying out what you’ve just shown us & being at some point in the future, quite ambitious enough to try & record tracks for a full song which I can then sing & play uke with. Loved it…thanks again! ❤

  4. Great video Rachel, thank you! I haven’t used GarageBand since retiring 3 years ago from teaching high school classroom music , and your video reinforced everything I was familiar with using GB. Since taking up the Bass Ukulele, I have been having so much fun playing bass lines with my husband, who plays guitar. We’ve been playing along to various songs on YouTube, and I was wondering if you might do a video on how to create a backing track in GB for a whole song, either with or without the vocals? Eg. we’ve been playing along to 'Something' by George Harrison and I’m thinking about how I could create a backing track in GB with rhythm, basic chords and the vocals played on keyboard. Thanks again for your wonderful resources🙂

  5. Thank you, Rachel. This was excellent. Do you even make backing tracks for particular songs? I was thinking say a simple (relatively) pop song with a bridge and a chorus.

  6. Rachel, as always you know how to explain everything very clearly. I've looked at Garageband many times before, but thought it was kind of complicated. But this basic lesson has made me curious again how I can make backing tracks myself. Thanks for your clear explanation!
