  1. Excellent conversation and, as a Scottish supporter, I have to agree with the conclusion re. the game tomorrow. I just hope it's an exciting, tight game that showcases the best of both teams.

The one other strength, alluded to but not explicitly stated, that Finn Russell has is he can manufacture time for himself and others… which may help to (partially) counter the Bokke rush defence.

  2. The draw makes a mockery of the best teams getting out of the pools and will effect who really the best team in the world is. Too much is made of the WC and many teams use this event as an excuse for poor performances in normal competitions. Personally it is not the same game I grew up with. Rules have changed, money came in forcing it into to be a more superficial running inclined spectacle to draw crowds and sell sponsor’s products.

  4. Great chat from you guys. I always believe that the team with the greatest defence will win the World Cup. Every World Cup we’ve won. We had the strongest defence… Yes you need to score tries and points. Interesting..,

  5. Mighty impressive chap and great interview as always Brendan (you have the knack); nice balanced discussion and respect shown for various teams/players as it should be! Thanks! PS: as someone else suggested how good would it be to have someone like this take over the Boks?

  6. Ohhh… im a bokkie living in England and the more i see and hear the more worried ive become. Ive got a funny feeling that Ire, Boks & Scots are each going to loose a game. SA took a long time to score against 13 ABs especially when they dominated territory & discipline in the warm up game.
