Official Apple TV+ Logline:
Rocketing into the new millennium in the eight years since season three, Happy Valley has rapidly expanded its footprint on Mars by turning former foes into partners. Now 2003, the focus of the space program has turned to the capture and mining of extremely valuable, mineral-rich asteroids that could change the future of both Earth and Mars. But simmering tensions between the residents of the now-sprawling international base threaten to undo everything they are working towards.

  1. I can’t help but think about Margo’s first interrogator who turned out to be on the right side at the end but didn’t live to see it. Is Ilya really going to try to smuggle Lee’s wife to Mars? Things are starting to get going, let me know what you think.

  2. The Aleida and Bill scene was the best part of this episode (besides all of the Margo stuff) and a perfect example of character consistency and good writing. These characters are exactly who they were two seasons ago (aka 20 years ago) and their relationship…marked by disagreements, mutual respect, and vulnerability…was on full display. And who didn’t laugh when he said, “At least you didn’t pee your pants,”? A running “joke” that should be as familiar with them as “Hi, Bob” is with Danielle and Ed. Excellent, excellent scene.

  3. Hell yeah..things are getting way more interesting ! (except Miles storyline and his character who is not interesting oat all imo, but we always had a boring storyline each season so..) now : launch time ! 😉

  4. Everyone thinks Dev Ayesa is evil because he would not allow the Helios ship to go back and help the Russian ship on their way to Mars. However, he made the right choice. He said it himself. "It wasn't Helios' fault the Russians and Americans recklessly changed their schedules to try to match the Helios schedule". Why would he risk his mission? The Russians and Americans should be viewed as the evil ones instead for risking their own people.

  5. Calling it: Miles gets busted but not before discovering Ed's secret garden. Danielle has to finally confront Ed and kick him off Mars. Life on Happy Valley improves without his dead weight.

  6. “I am very careful” was said at least twice by llyo, the still owner/black market guy. And now, he kinda has a (not too bright partner) & doing business w/a Korean, who seems like a good guy, but his buddies/country may not. I think ‘being very careful” is not so careful anymore.

  7. I think some aspect of the Ed/Svetlana bond will be what gets him to leave Mars. She leaves and perhaps she talks him into it. (That's the happy version) If there is longterm romance, I'm there for it.

  8. If Kelly has as much stock as Dev, or even in the same universe as close to as much stock, then she's a paper billionaire, whose first instinct not being a business person wouldn't be going out seeking outside funding in the first place. Plot hole. Always dig your breakdowns man, you're good at them.

  9. Great episode. However, I’m more interested in the Margo storyline than the other three: Ed’s possible “love life” (yawn) and health issues (yawn), Aleida and Kelly’s business with Dev (yawn) and the Miles storyline. Aleida and Kelly bore me to near tears. Miles is just plain fun to watch. So give me more Margo in Russia, and let’s see what Miles is going to do next! BTW, enjoyed Dev’s takeover at Helios, tossing all the self serving suits out on their a$$!

  10. This season is so gripping. I love the space smuggler ark. Also I agree with Kelly’s face, they seem to be realizing Dev wasn’t back. But it was just an ego thing. What he first told Kelly he still believes. He’s definitely going to be insane. But like a very wise blind woman once said selfish assholes change the world

  11. Do you think Ed could just have anxiety?? As someone who suffers from REAL anxiety, you shake like that. And it happens in the most important moments. Particularly when you’re in flight or fight, and because he’s been through so much, all of it comes flooding back whenever he does something dangerous. He lost all of his blood tied. And all of his closest friends and THEIR family as well. He has literally sacrificed his entire family aside from Kelly and yes he treated her like his own, she’s still not one of the people he started with. That’s why she’s not enough for him to leave Mars. It sucks but it’s true. Kelly was Ed and Karen’s love child, and that connection died with Karen.

  12. I don't get why Margot is being treated like that, I mean she helped their country right? They should be treated nicely. And if the the hardline commies took poor the economic miracle of the Soviet Union crash down the drain right?

  13. Very well done breakdown. I appreciate the human voice and your sharing a few opinions about what might happen. it would be even better if you could modulate your tone a bit more, let some emotion enter, but still WAY superior to many of the very robotic voices doing recaps.
