FNAF Games Ranked by Horror

Today I ranked the Five Nights at Freddy’s games based on how scary they are. The list is organized from least scary to scariest and includes FNAF1-4, Sister Location, Pizzeria Simulator, Ultimate Custom Night, and Security Breach.

  1. Okay so I truly have no idea why, but horror of any kind just… doesn't work on me (and I have several severe anxiety disorders, so I don't know what's up with that) so it was super interesting to see you rank these.

  2. I have always said this but fnaf 4 is definitely the scariest game in the franchise. Just the fact that you’re in a room, like a bedroom, a place that you’re supposed to feel safe and always have nightmares in makes it so much scarier.

  3. the many jumpscares in fnaf 3 that dnan't game over you probably dont help considering its constantly releasing the tension without giving it time to build up

  4. To me, the most unsettling moment in the entire series is in one of the endings of help wanted where you see the perspective of a child being murdered, and it’s elevated by glitchtraps horrifying design, also I think the security breach endoskeleton area is terrifying, but it’s still the least scary

  5. I wouldve put 1 over 4, but both had an equal amount of dread IMO. In fnaf 1, when the power goes out, its the scariest thing ever, because you have doors that keep you safe, and cameras to help keep track of the characters, and lights, but It all shuts off at the same time in a matter of seconds, and now youre totally helpless and fucked. In fnaf 4, the scariest thing to me, was the breathing thing, where when you open the door, if someone is close to you, you can hear their breathing as you look into the darkness, knowing this thing is right in front of you. That is terror.

  6. I never liked FNAF 3, and after that game I just left the fandom/stopped caring about the series for a long time. However the jumpscares of that game always frightened me despite being so cheap. They for sure made my heart race everytime lol

Personally I'd put 1 over 4, but looking at it generally 4 deserves #1. For me the extreme amount of teeth make the animatronics look kinda.. cheap design wise? I get they are supposed to represent how the kid imagines them though and for that I find them to be alright- just not my type of horror. I find the FNAF1 ones to spook me out more because they look more realistic to me.
