One of my all time fav docs
That Cater case with the skier is crazy,it’s been covered on a couple YouTube channels apparently there were tracks following him over some crazy ground and his ski tracks ended into a canyon like he’d rather jump off than be caught by whatever was behind him(I believe It was ape canyon) but anyway that’s a crazy case!
Thanks for posting this old gem of a speculative film. Videos like this fired my imagination when I was a boy.
One of my favs
Haven't seen this one in forty years. Thanks! Would love to find a DVD version.
Another one of my favorite classics! Thank you for sharing
Wasn’t there a longer version of this? I distinctly remember a scene where a group of hunters kill the Bigfoot family in a what if scenario and a scene where a couple is in the forest or swamp and light fires all around them to ward of the creatures.
As many have said, this was one of my favorites as a kid. I too, remember a longer version of this. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the upload! Keep em coming!
Good stuff bud, this channel rocks!
The Serakova story always haunted me as a kid till I finally found the whole story online. It did not exactly play out as scene here and a bit more 'weirder' as well: Seems everyone in the village knew very well of the Alma. It lived in a house with a woman that died years before. There was a party going on that night when Serakova was there, and the alma was scared of the music and went into the house Serakova was staying at instead because she left the porch door open to get some air.
I have met Peter Byrne . It’s great to talk with him about the subject . He is 97 . Manbeast myth or monster is a classic ! Bless Peter Byrne
Thanks for the memories. Still great after all these years 🌹
Who was the Anthropologist that was using Krantz's words? Was he an actor supposed to be Krantz? Why did they use that guy when they had the Krantz footage already?? I'm confused.
This is a classic (and very underrated) Bigfoot documentary, made all the better by Peter Byrne and his approach to the subject. Even though I disagree with him as far as reports outside the PNW, I still respect him immensely. Met him in 2016, and he was very personable and kind. Thanks for posting this Todd!
Dear Todd – first thank you for all your extraordinary hard work and good diligence in this fantastic archive you have created – a true labour of love on this fascinating phenomenon. This is my first comment here and I was struck how this particular documentary really presents as unique with a sense of the romance of both the subject and its two key protagonists – a delightful combination. So much of the recent exploration of the phenomenon has somehow lost this spirit I feel. It of course helps that the always excellent Peter Byrne is such an old world character and the first to truly place both feet in the Himalaya and the Pacific North West – in a world now largely lost to us – not just because of the push back of nature – but sadly as some have forgotten the real spell this wonderful subject casts. Thankfully your comprehensive archive helps define its 20th century historical cultural impact and why some elements rise, fall or morph into new meanings. A huge thanks to the generosity of Mr Larry Lund and all of the early community who value the art of sharing – it ennobles us all.
