► Final Fantasy XVI Story Synopsis

Final Fantasy XVI reimagines the series’ iconic summons as Eikons. These deadly creatures are housed within Dominants, men and women who inherit their immense power at birth – whether they like it or not.

Eikons are the most powerful beings in Valisthea, a land where six powerful realms have emerged thanks to the power of the Mothercrystals. The aether provided by these towering mountains of crystal powers the magicks that have allowed these nations to thrive for many years — but now a mysterious Blight threatens to disrupt their uneasy alliance.

Play as Clive Rosfield, First Shield of Rosaria and guardian of his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Eikon Phoenix, in this epic action RPG from a team of Final Fantasy veterans.

  1. sorry Miss Welonz.. I’m starting the game soon, so I can’t be spoiled! but I’ll leave your video running in the background tho 🥹 i feel it’ll help because you’ll read out the lore and i will learn because i don’t like reading about the characters cause I get lazy lol

  3. The game is really gorgeous and very cinematic but relatively confusing with the politics so far, though it'll probably get clearer with time.
The thing that bugs me the most is the Ironblood, sometimes it says the Iron Kingdom and other times the Iron Republic… which is it? or are they 2 different things? :p

  4. Man I know its just an upgraded engine of ff14 but you can really tell its same universe. Mc looks like endwalker poster boy mc >< benedikta looks like a cross of a hyur and viera.

  5. If you caught this video being titled Part 5 before but now Part 4 – I made this change to exclude the eikonic challenge video from the numbering to make it less confusing for future playlist watchers. (Eikonic challenge was Part 3, but narratively it didn't directly follow Part 1 and 2.)

TL;DR nothing changed content-wise, just renumbering parts!

  6. As soon as I heard those chickens, I was transported right back to that section in Resident Evil 4 where you held both those chickens at gun and knife point for eggs. I fear for these ones safety 😰

  7. 4:00 I find it weird that they only say the first few lines then let the player read it, was this in FF14-15 too?
12:46 The game really feels like it takes inspiration from Game of Thrones. Heck, even the map looks GoT-inspired. With all the GoT inspirations, I wonder if they tried to get Sean Bean to voice anyone. IIRC he voiced Noctis' father in the animated movie. Also, I'm getting Attack on Titan vibes from the Eikon stuff. I wonder how Eikon powers can be passed down, probably something to do with blood.
33:23 Aevis, huh? I guess Clive's old gang were all named after draconic creatures.

  8. 45:15 Oh yeah, just keep smoking right after coughing blood, Cid. Are you even coughing blood from using those powers or is it just from smoking too much of extra bad cigars?

    Cidolfus? More like Cidoofus.

  9. 6:07 Okay so…

    Fire: Phoenix + Ifrit
    Ice: Shiva
    Earth: Titan
    Lightning: Ramuh
    Air: Garuda
    Water?
    ?
    ?

That's all I can think of at the moment but I might be forgetting one or two. If not, knowing Final Fantasy, the last two will be light and dark. Probably Bahamut since it's so Eikonic (ayo). Maybe one could be related to the blight?

Since Ifrit is around I wonder if we'll see other secondary/double ups like Ixion/Odin for lightning and Valefor for Air. Knights of the Round?? Choco/Mog?? Carbuncle??

Also, "none has ever witnessed all these rare creatures together." Foreshadowing of an ultimate kaiju Eikon showdown?

  10. In this context a ward is a polite term for a political hostage. They're generally treated well, but give their homeland pause from messing with the host. In this case, Jill's life would be forfeit if her homeland attacked Clive's duchy again.
