When a train derailed Monday afternoon, trapping hundreds of people, a group of Boy Scouts came to the rescue. The crash caused at least seven rail cars to tumble off the tracks and land on their sides. At least three people were killed and dozens of others were injured.
Two of the scouts recount their experience on NewsNation’s “Banfield.”

This was a lot for young boys like this to see with many terrible injuries especially the truck driver who had to be badly hurt. Brave young men who took action with helping these people.

I have no doubt these young men have a good support system. Most Boy/Cuba Scouts and Brownies/Girl Scouts come from home where parents or grandparents are very involved in their lives. I was a Co-Scout leader besides working in one of 3 local middle schools. They have to be involved because of travel, earning badges, weekly meetings and community events. Scouts are a great program. If you want your child to learn about leadership, discipline and teamwork, scouting is perfect. They also alot of cool fun stuff.
