  2. Great ending Liera! Absolutly love this series🥰So glad you enjoyed it as well! There's not many games where you have a story rich game with multiple choices that directly effects the endings. Imo one of the best games of all time:) Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. In a lot of cases the outcome of one decision will play out in multiple ways and interact with other decisions and it gets more complicated as the games progress. On a replay the illusion will break somewhat as you see how certain events always play out with adjustments to make them feel like they were more influenced by your decisions than they actually were, but it's still impressive how much it was made to allow for your decisions to affect things, at least up to a certain point. My suggestion is that on your first play though, embrace the illusion as much as possible because it will never be as good as on subsequent runs Play the role of Shepherd as you see her and see what happens rather than trying to "game" it.

  4. Fun Fact: Each companion has their own place on the paragon/renegade spectrum
. Liara is the most paragon, and Tali is second most. When you are given the option to save the council the most paragon suggests saving them and the most renegade suggests letting them die. Going with Liara and Tali is the only combination that has Tali suggesting letting the council die

  5. 1:45:52 There is no visual difference for Saren throughout the game. They originally planned to have him change as the game progresses, as you can find in concept art, but it was ultimately cut. There is a sweet mod called Saren Stages for both the original and Legendary Edition that restores this idea though.

  6. I have enjoyed your playthrough. Here are some meta-tips for ME2 (and ME3).

The games begin with tutorial content,. I have watched other players struggle with this, as they assume they know the controls already. For the most part, you do, but the tutorial is showing new things, and controls that have changed, as well as the ones you feel comfortable with. My advice would be to NOT fight it and let it show you what it needs to show… it will end soon enough.

Unlike ME1 and ME3, where any character class can use any gun, in ME2 you will be limited to the guns allowed for your character class. There are no mods to manage, and you will not have a huge inventory to deal with. Armor is also handled differently, though that remains about the same going from ME2 to ME3.

Talking to the crew is more rewarding in ME2 and ME3; their dialogue is more fluid and changes more often (as there are more missions overall). Like ME1, doing main missions advances the "plot timeline" and triggers such changes.

Looking forward to seeing your ME2 playthrough!

  7. Even on replays, I can't ever not choose Liara. After I completed 3 for the first time, I thought about tripping over little blue Asari babies…

  8. I know your time is limited. But i'd like to ask:
Any estimate on if/when you are going to start with ME2 ?
I thoroughly enjoyed this playthrough of yours and i would be super happy to watch you play the rest of the series.

  9. What I usually do is never buy any gun whatsoever during most of the game, hoarding all I can. Just before going to Ilos, go at the Csec requisition office and buy all those big consonant branded weapons level X. These weapons are so good everything becomes easy mode, it's insane.

  10. I got surprised by the amount of blue booty that was on screen. When I played I didn't know and my 9 year old son was in the room! I ran over to him and tried to bloke his view by standing in front of the screen but he's faster than me and put a cushion over his face! Mission accomplished!

  11. I have done maybe 5/6 playthrough and i always refuse to waste human ship to save the council.
It was a no brainer the first time, still a no brainer.
But i also despise most paragon action as they tend to be annoyingly goodygood..
I lean mostly Renegade (my OG was 2:1 renegade to paragon.
Remegade is way more interesting and realistic IMHO.)

  12. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this playthrough of ME1, it was such a pleasure. I've watched many playthroughs of the trilogy and I think this one was my favorite for sure. Can't wait to watch what's been posted of ME2! You're doing a great job!

  13. The Saren with reaper implants is actually what he looks like at the beginning of the game, if you notice when you see Saren on Eden Prime he already looks different from other Turians, that is because originally bioware had planned for him to look like a normal Turian and then look he does in the game only after he was upgraded but due to Mass Effect 1 being a low budget game project back in 2005 when the project was started they ended up having to cut budget so they went with his upgraded apperance through the entire game.

  14. Thanks, Liera, for putting this together. Your positive attitude, times insightful thinking, times gaming skill, equals the greatest Mass Effect playthrough I've seen.

Then on top of that, you read the comments. So thanks again!

  15. That was an epic finale to your ME1 playthrough. The Reapers' plans are thwarted, the galaxy is saved. For the next 2,5 years at least.

In the end, Saren turned out to be no more than Sovereign puppet. I would feel sad for him if he wasn't a huge asshole even before being brainwashed, judging by his mission with Anderson 20 years ago.

The battle against sovereign was epic and brutal. And now you're dealing with hundreds like him in ME3… At least you have Hackett on your side.

I'm glad you saved Destiny Ascension and the council though. Politically, I think it's a more beneficial decision for humanity in the long run. 10k of asari crew aside, coming to the rescue sends a message that you don't abandon your allies and stand with them against the common threat. Sacrificing them sends a message that you're willing to sacrifice your allies for your own gain. A short term gain for a long term loss. At least that's how I see it from the in-game perspective.

Can't wait to start your ME2 playthrough and see how you deal with the suicide mission.

PS. Oh, you drove too fast at 1:07:00 and skipped Liara's speech. You even sped up! It happens in every Bioware games – wherever your companions speak up, any outside trigger like an enemy attack would interupt them and you'll never know what they were trying to say. It annoyed me when I played Dragon Age.
Also, you ignored poor Avina in the citadel.

There are also multiple guns you can activate to kill the geth ship faster at 1:40:00. If you ever replay the game on harder difficulty, they'll make this fight easier.
