  2. Putin made piece deal only because he saw he is fucked ,he didn’t expect that.He would just wait until Republicans take over,Ukraine would loose their military support then he would comeback for Ukraine.West made a choice to do not be fulled by man who proved in a past,he does not keep his word.

  3. Calacanis, yes, only Taiwanese can decide if we are independent or not, but the problem is China won't let us make that decision!

Most of Taiwanese want current status-quo to continue, it's Xi who wants to change the status quo!

    Don't you get it?

  4. Sacks, you're wrong again and again.

The current pull shows the pro-western party, DPP, is very much likely to continue to stay in power after 2024 election.

When Taiwanese look at the Russia-Ukrain war, we think the same thing will happen to us if Ukrain loses the war because of the lack of support from NATO and US, so it actually intensifies our faith that we need to keep a longer distance from China in terms of economy and culture, as China will use them as weapons to infiltrate us, and we need to reinforce our defense power.

  5. Gerstner, you're even worse than Sacks.😂

Get TSMC build FABs in US, Japan and Germany and leave Taiwanese alone facing China's threat – what a nice plan!

But, when other countries see US do this to Taiwan, they will doubt if US is a reliable partner, and they will think more when US ask them to work together to compete with China, and it will also accelerate the collapse of the dependence on USD.

Is this want US want to see?

Besides, the so called wealthy Taiwanese families don't represent the majority of Taiwanese.

Most Taiwanese envision China's invasion to Taiwan IS literally an violent invasion. It's totally unlike Hongkong – Hongkong is a part of China without doubt, but Taiwan is not, so what China wants to do to Taiwan is an invasion of a country to another one.

Sacks is being such an asshole here.
"NYC cabs don't affect me and aren't a story that I care about. Therefore, it was a huge waste of time. That's obviously BS. Local issues are important to locals. And if the Pulitzer provides an impetus to cha be something BAD, then that's a good thing! Plain and simple. Rent-seeking yada yada = bad. Fixing it = good. Period.
There's ALWAYS something "more important" to talk about. But don't trivialize the harm another situation is causing.

  7. Blinken is a lightweight. All you people that voted for Biden as the more centrist stable choice should apologize for mess you helped create both domestically and internationally. How about a segment on the IRS whisteblowers and DOJ protectors of the corrupt Bidens? The CIA runs our relationship or lack thereof with Cuba.

  8. Would love to see them bring on Vivek Ramaswamy. I don't think him or RFK will be allowed to be president, but they're the most important voices running

  9. Sacks made a great connection between the Monroe Doctrine and Ukraine. If we believe a hostile military power in Cuba is an existential crisis, then it shouldn’t be hard to imagine Russia’s point of view.

  10. You should talk about everything, which I think is the appeal of this podcast – it's not just financial, not just politics, nor tech -it's wide-ranging. Your takes are also not the typical pov of CNN, FOX, NYT, etc. and that is a huge plus, people are really looking for alternatives from that. Lastly, the genuine friendship draws you in and is another big reason why this show appeals to so many. It's a feature that cannot easily be duplicated.

  11. Chamath saying he's "trolling the mids" by tweeting something that makes him look either ignorant, dishonest, or both, isn't the "own" that he thinks it is.
Seems more like an excuse for getting caught making a misstatement..
    Love the Pod though!

  12. The only times I turn this pod off are when they start talking about political or social issues that don't directly overlap with their domains of expertise. It can get pretty cringy pretty fast and these guys start looking kind of dumb.

  14. I’m interested in what Sachs is invested in, but all he really seems to be really invested in is to make Biden wrong. It gets tiresome. It’s also transparent David! It’s transparent that you are energized and motivated to make dems wrong, and you’re just looking each week for as many placeholders as possible to place your anger and self-righteous anger. It just feels like each week you sit down with the news and ask yourself
‘What here can I use to blame Biden and make him look bad?”
Tiresome David, and coming from such a thoughtful guy, it’s especially disappointing and annoying.

  16. Since China was able to successfully mediate a reunification of Iran and Saudi Arabia along with other Arab states, the US is no longer able to create the kind of divisions, in other words sow the seeds of discord that they are experts at sowing so as to be able to exploit countries in that region. If I was Saudi Arabia, all sales of oil to them would have to be conducted in the Rial or the Yuan. Obviously if they are buying stuff from the US it would have to be in dollars. My point is: the dollar should only be used as an absolute last resort.

  17. 6/23 Pod Sacks has to be paid by the Russians… US & Europe are better when Putin & Prigozian are weaker, they meddle in our elections and actively sow discord among us. Sacks stop sticking up for the enemy or admit you are paid by them.

  18. Sacks and Chamath are WRONG saying the COVID vaccine is "not a vaccine". You don't understand what a vaccine is, apparently:
    vac·cine
    noun
"a substance used to stimulate immunity to a particular infectious disease or pathogen, typically prepared from an inactivated or weakened form of the causative agent or from its constituents or products."
I believe this is exactly what the mRNA vaccine does.

"In general, most vaccines do not completely prevent infection but do prevent the infection from spreading within the body and from causing disease."

    A security agreement with Russia?😂😂😂

You think Russia will give up invading Ukrain just because of that paper in your hand?

My God! You believe Russia and China will take those agreements seriously?

    What a smart investor!😂😂😂😂

Those agreements are just for China and Russia to wipe their ass!😂
