  2. 9F's for me. I'd like to get the latest Hornby one of Black Prince, but I can't justify the nearly £300 of the sound fitted one. I already have four – or is it five? examples, including a Crosti. (That's not a hint to any or everybody!)

  3. Hi Jenny.

I, Phil have a LNER A1 and A3 problem. Particularly Flying Scotsman of which I now have every livery she wore. That I'm aware of anyway. I've only got 3 A4s. Bittern in BR Green, Mallard in Garter Blue and Empire of India in Garter Blue too.

  4. 1310 came from the NCB, I helped unload it at the Middleton in 1964/65. Silver King was the Hornby Dublo 3-rail A4. Strange that Union of South Africa and Bittern are not readily available as they are two of the preserved A4s.

  5. 1310 was preserved by going into private industry and was never part of BR its currently out of ticket, with Rapido doing the sound recording a few weeks before it came out of traffic.

  6. Interesting video. Love your collection, well done C&G Darlington modellers mentioned years ago a customer bought every A4 they could, but that was long ago.
I love Duchess’s in maroon they are so impressive. I first saw them at Perth shed 1961/2 in BR green. I was being car sick, aged 7/8, travelling from Fife to Dundee. My family were tired of my constant car sickness, but were rewarded with a lot of LMS ‘cops’.You couldn’t see Perth Shed from the Rd, I discovered it, moving away from the road to be Ill. We lived near LNER metals.
0-6-0’s in BR black are another favourite, and GWR.
