Dual Shields Are Deadly In Elden Ring

Dual Shields Are Deadly In Elden Ring
Last Video I covered how shields/barricade shield performs in Elden ring. A couple of you let me know that you can also use guard counter, a new feature in Elden Ring, when dual wielding shields. Instead of doing poor damage, when guard countering with a dual shields, a guard break occurs. This is, in my opinion, one of the most fun ways to play Elden Ring. While not completely the same, it is quite similar to the gameplay in Sekiro. Sekiro fans will love this build. This seems to work on most bosses in the network test which is great.

  1. So.. Is that guard counter better than any other weapon type? Like would that not work with some other standard weapon? Maybe blunt weapons have a bonus to stagger breaking?

  2. From Software has to train their audience. The problem is we tend to apply what we mastered in the last game to the current. Sometimes that's good. Sometimes that's not valid. Elden Ring is not Dark Souls 4. Jump attacks, block-counters, double parrying bosses for a crit, charged attacks, a hidden Sekiro-like stamina bar, stealth, sleep arrows…. You CAN play elden ring like DS3 and it will be functional, but you will be missing out on half the fun… in a way Sekiro was just a training run for the user base. E.R. will be familiar in a few ways, and totally different in others.
