As a trans woman, I feel this wholeheartedly. Hell, I seen people who, repeatedly, don’t use a trans person’s chosen name. To me this just shows that they don’t care to learn their name. Sure the advising chef is not trans, but that is what is going on here. Martin just refused.

  2. 55:55 u speak about how disrespectful not remembering a name, 2 minutes later, look in a mirror haha! Also i am bad with names so i get that and not bother if someone calls my name wrong, aslong as i know i am spoken to!

  3. You look so cute in that dress 😁
Also, I would hazard to guess this was maybe the first and only time Gordon snapped at a waitress. And even that was only because she stood up for Martin 😄

And considering how a large majority of the restaurants featured on the show closed before their respective episodes even aired, the fact that Purnima stayed open for two years after the episode aired, is nothing short of a miracle.

  4. The "general manager" tried to sue Gordon and Kitchen Nightmares twice. The first time he tried to sue for $3,000,000 dollars, made up a story about Gordon breaking his phone and tried to say Gordon intimidated him because he believed Gordon was "the most dangerous man in England and a former SAS elite commando" (which isn't true, Gordon was a footballer before he became a chef). He lost that case.

The second lawsuit was for $800,000 and he claimed Gordon conspired to have him fired and thus imposed undue financial duress and he tried to weasel in a ruling to have the episode pulled from airing. He lost that one too.

    Edit:
Just to add in, the restaurant closed in 2009, 2 years after the episode aired. When it closed, the reviews were just over 3 stars average, and apparently the sheets went back up and the fly problem came back

  5. when the woman said "the tikka massala rivaled anything in england" is more than just loving it.
little known fact is that british troops in india created what people know as curry today, and tikka massala is an infusion of that creation, created by a south asian, in britain.
so thats a hell of a review if you ask me.
