Musk is the George Santos in progressive garb. But worry not, when he realizes he has ridden the money/power/popularity ez-train for as far as he can when people begin asking why the proverbial rubber has ever met the road and he feels he is being exposed for what he really is, he will run to the open arms of the political right whining about how 'they' are trying to cancel him, about how 'woke' people are picking on him…blah, blah. A game we have seen from so many grifters in the past. Then he will slowly fade into the nothingness, only to be remembered in the haunted dreams of those who once cheered him for his failures but now search for ways to deny they were ever a part of his failed legacy.

Looking back at Elon speeches in 2017, it's interesting how much better he looked and how much more charismatic/good at public speaking he was compared to late 2023.

The N-1 moon rocket was pretty impressive and decades ahead of its time in terms of engine design. The reason the Russian engineers asked for so many test flights is because they were not given the resorces to build engine test stands. SpaceX should be commeded for pushing full up flight tests earlier in the design process (this is why ULA is so expensive), however perhaps they pushed a little too early…
Elon is a fraud. Very efficient at getting people to buy his shtick.

I have many many issues with musk, but this feels more like “I don’t like musk so Im going to criticise spacex”.
I understand the feeling that “rockets blowing up is failure”, which is true to an extent but you can learn far more from your failures than your successes, and if your objective is to gain knowledge quickly allowing yourself to fail is a good thing. A rocket blowing up is a failed rocket launch but can be a successful learnjng opportuinty.
Okay but is it cost effective to blow up rockets as experiments? Well that's debatable and hard to tell from the outside, these failures undoubtedly speed up R&D (when planned for and expected), and everyday sooner you can finish your product that's one less day of R&D you have to pay for and one more day sooner it can start making you money. (This can be seen with $8.8 billion in Nasa Contracts alone that SpaceX will get between 2020 and 2025 whilst boeing is still developing starliner)
Speaking of crew dragon, yes it’s slightly more expensive than Soyuz but it has an additional seat, increasing NASA’s productivity on the ISS by 33% (and is a much more comfortable ride according to astronaughts, which is important for crew dragons tourist customers)
I’m temoted to point out how every other space program has been delayed since Apollo, but just bc others have failed to keep to their schedule doesn’t excuse SpaceX’s delays. On the other hand their is a common understanding that things will rarely if ever be delivered on time and the schedules are generally “no earlier than” rather than “no later than” but that isn't what Musk actually says.
However the comparison between Starship and the Saturn V is completely unfair. The Saturn V landed a craft about the size of a small van, with the payload capacity of a smart car. Starship is bigger than the space shuttle, and has the capability and payload xpactity to go with that.

Then they got a flawless score (until apollo 18). Because they already killed 3 ppl. Elon Musk has no gust he takes bo risk and until now killed no one soooo they can cheer every time they blew a billon dollar … When they put people inside starship and it blew then the cheerring will be indecent… But frankly it's a techno scam so they will say they did what best they could and they unfortunatlt didn't acheived their goals… Veru sad

Now all we get is him trying to convince everybody that he has a bigger dick than Elon Musk. How the mighty have fallen.
Saturm V program took 7 years to develop. 13 total launches with a cost per launch of $1.23B with a thrust capacity of 40MN. Starship has been in development for 4 years and has a thrust capacity of 90MN. The 39 engines cost around $250k each which makes roughly $10M in engines. Let's double it and double it again and you're looking at $40-50M a launch.
I find it amusing to look at the current program and think it's a failure
I love you and your channel, and I dislike Elon as much as the next guy. But I disagree with your video in one aspect:
I think it is POSSIBLE for a company heavily focused on research & development (of whatever: software, rockets, medicine, etc.) to craft a framework within which any outcome is a "success", because it leads to a consistent process of trial and error, learning, and most important of all: refining processes. It's all about processes.
Again, I said it is POSSIBLE. Is this SpaceX's case??? I don't know. Maybe. Who the hell knows.
But I don't think calling that rocket blowing up a "success" represents a "kool aid cult". It's all about science, and again, about the development process.

The amount of people that don't understand a thing in this comment. I'm not an Elon fan but this is how you make progress in life, to fail over and over and learn from your mistakes! The reason why the government's rockets usually work the first time is because they did A LOT of modifications, mathematics and simulations to make that happen but that comes with a cost of taking a lot of time. It took NASA 11 years to launch the SLS. For SpaceX, it took them 6 years to successfully launched their falcon1, and their falcon 9 just 2-3 years to land (even on a drone ship in the middle of the ocean with almost pinpoint accuracy!). This was no doubt of theirs trials and errors. The same thing is happening for starship

It’s kind of saddening that it’s been almost 60 years since the OG moon landing and yet we are greatly anticipating doing it again, and not succeeding. We live in an age of unprecedented technological sophistication and yet we can’t recreate what we already pulled off in an age where a computer was the size of a room. We need old NASA and instead we get Elon Musk, now that’s sad.
Before watching this video, consider these:
During the time of Saturn V launches, NASA budget was 3% to 6% of the total federal income of the USA. If you applied that to the US federal income of 2022, that means NASA will have around $144 billion to $288 billion per year TODAY.
Plus pretty much the US got all the smartest people possible in there.
Not only that during that time we have some of the greatest rocket scscientistinds around.
If we comparing the SLS with Starship, SLS basically use the stuffs from the shuttle era, and was in progress for so long. NASA don't need make many new things and just reuse stuffs that works. Comparing the two is stupid.
You need to wonder why NASA gives SpaceX money and support them. Not only that but picking Starship as the moon lander. Do all of you really think that some random people on the internet knows rockets better than engineers at NASA?
And obviously, don't even talk about rocket launches during 1950s. Rockets got so better so fast during the 1950s and 1960s was also because the need for ever better ICBMS. Don't you think the money and experiences in building ICBMS don't help the development of space rockets?

I can't understand how SoaceX didn't use any baffles in the propellent tanks, in both stages. It looked like an idiotic design choice to me. It would have to be expected that the momentum of the liquid CH4 and liquid O2 during the flip manoeuvre starved the engines and destroyed the bulkhead.
When starship gets into orbit, tanks will be empty. For the forward trip to the Moon, or just for changing orbit, the starship will require ten additional launches of a Starship tanker to refuel the vessel. Here I have some reservations on the rapid execution of such an endeavour…
