The question is does concentration aura increase the dammage like on hammers would it be more worth than conviction to improve magic damage
This spell used to suck balls till now, and omg they really fucked up by giving it a .4 sec cooldown. Means Pali rape in pvp… Sigh 😥 Thanx blizz give palis another gap closer
I was wondering if using dual Dreams like a Tesladin would be good for FoH since Holy Shock is a 7% per level synergy?
Even before the buffs to FoH i really enjoyed the skill back in the day for my main pvp char

This ability looks absolutely horrendous. Targeting is none existent, cant hit the mob you targeted, cant kill certain mobs, just cringe AF. Hard pass!

I'm playing a single player paladin in hell right now who is level 79 and I just got through the act 2 slog. So far, my build is FoH 20, Holy Bolt 20, Prayer 14, Holy Bolt 20, Meditation 1 and Redemption 1. So I did buff the lightning synergy, and it helps, but I just run redemption at base plus 6 with my skills. It let's me help my act 5 frenzy merc kill stuff, and if they are also lightning immune, I either spam holy bolt as needed to keep the merc alive, or I use my conversion attack (level 9 with skills) to convert a few of the lightning beetles.
It's actually pretty dang fun. And with prayer 14, my single target holy bolt basically let's him face tank act bosses, or most other bosses.
Fun build. I've just got to slog through all the animals in act 3 hell and I will finally in the act 4 stuff where it will become more fun again. I do wonder how the hell I will beat the ancients though. Nightmare is one thing for them, hell is another. 🙂
I highly recommend playing this for the holy bolt mostly. Max foh for synergy. Max holy bolt. Don't bother with holy shock. Get Max block from holy shield and dex. I personally put points in redemption and run around with this on all the time. Conviction helps the holy bolt dmg but it's not worth the points imo. You put 1 point in it and with later gear it'll still destroy. Redemption I can stand In packs while Max blocked and cast foh in the center. They die in 2 foh for 1man chaos . For 8 man chaos I still slap bc I can spam since my mana Regens. I run an act 5 merc with headsplitter with amn rune and lawbringer. This merc DESTROYS non demons / undead. Especially with the 1 point in fanat. Leaves you with a ton of points left over. I can gear swap and smite ubers. Even without enigma I clear chaos charging over (tp past maggots) and kill in under 3 mins. With enigma this slaps. Hammers technically could do it faster with perfect placement. Just know when holy bolt spam>foh due to density and you'll have a GREAT time.
Been playing through a FoHSmiter, and it has been pretty interesting to have a switch-hitter build that isn't a javazon. Very few characters can do both melee and ranged effectively.
Hey man…im just finish solo with FOH…lvl 82 rite now and still need high runes…just found 4 soc monarch…what can i get from it if i do trading?
I feel that FotH is bad for solo leveling, groups it is pretty nice because you can run conviction to support your group. FotH is a great dedicated chaos, pits, and AT runner especially if you bring a barb Merc with lawbringer.
I would love if Sanctuary aura boosted holy bolt damage (whether it’s from FoH or HB itself). I dig your idea of adding Principle to melee type builds. Im trying to make some sort of hybrid, using A. zeal (dual dreams? Or HoJ/Dragon) B. FoH and C. Principle…somehow haha

I've built myself a FoH pally with budget gear (spirit sword/shield) w/insight holy freeze merc, respecing around lvl 40 and I'm loving it. I maxed out Holy Shock/FoH, 1 in Holy Shield and I'm gonna max out Holy Bolt, since I'm using Holy Shock as my aura I wanna try Resist Lighting but will likely respec into conviction when I get better gear/more lvls.
Back when younger I played a Prayer Paladin and worked great till I got to Nightmare. When D2R came out, I planned to do it again, but better and I started my new one with a few changes even planned on using Holy Bolt. When Patch 2.4 came out and I saw the new stats came up with a build that works my healer, with FoH and Smiter too. Been enjoying the build, though, for Hell, I definitely need to get better Gear. Oh, and something I have kept hearing is how wolves and the bears are the only ones that plus to skills works with the synergies but it also works with Prayer to give Cleansing Aura and Meditation more healing.
