classic 1970s Film Hell Boats stars James Franciscus, Elizabeth Shepherd, And Ronald Allen

Summary:
Lieutenant Commander Jeffords, an American serving with the Royal Navy, is given the task of leading a group of motor torpedo boats on a classified mission in Valletta, Malta, in 1941. Jeffords is authorized to bring his buddy Chief Petty Officer Yacov (Reuven Bar-Yotam), an Israeli/Palestinian, alongside him.

By salvaging spare parts from wrecked vessels, the damaged fleet manages to assemble three seaworthy boats. Jeffords’ objective is to annihilate a former Italian submarine station located in Augusta, Sicily. This base currently houses the German Fritz X glide bombs, which have been inflicting significant damage on British ships. Due to the bombs being held in repurposed submarine pens located within a mountain, an airborne assault is not conceivable. Jeffords has the authority to decide the method he will use to complete his task.

While not on duty, Jeffords encounters Alison Ashurst, who is swimming without clothing. It is later revealed that she is the spouse of his superior officer, Commander Andrew Ashurst. Furthermore, Commander Ashurst’s father is the admiral responsible for sending Jeffords to Malta. Initially, Jeffords declines her proposition to engage in an extramarital relationship. However, during an air attack, they seek refuge and engage in a passionate kiss. Subsequently, upon his return with a successfully apprehended E-boat, Jeffords discovers Alison patiently awaiting his arrival in his bed. It is inferred that they thereafter engage in sexual intercourse.
