I’ve been playing Elden Ring over the last week. Here’s my thoughts on it so far. Expect a blind playthrough on the channel over the coming days.

  1. The visuals have already blown my mind, Ruri. These kinds of games often have a tendancy to be bleak and washed out-looking for the sake of the atmosphere, but not here. It has the perfect amount of color to look absolutely beautiful, while still being able to look dark and gritty when it needs to. I freaking LOVE it!

  2. i have never played any souls or bloodborne blind. I always use a wiki and a guide. Otherwise i will miss stuff. I hate nothing more than missing stuff. Or NPCs get killed because i didn't know i need to kill a specific npc in time. I would hate this stuff.
Knowledge in soulsborne games is like the island in the first pirates movies.
It can only be found by people who already know where it is.

  4. I've played Elden Ring for about five hours now and it feels like a crowning achievement. A game that will have the industry impact of Skyrim and BOTW.

"Open world" games will never be the same again. The attention to detail on display here, alongside the density of "attractions," is something I've not seen before.

  5. I just hope that the PC port is stable this time around.

I never got to play the Dark Souls series, because of how awful and half assed the original Dark Souls' PC port was. You basically had to fix the game yourself with community made patches and mods, so I just gave up and never got to experience DS2 or DS3. (because I didn't want to 'skip lore' in that trilogy)

  6. Props to you for chilling on the game. Ive actually felt kinda sorry for some of the content creators that I know are passionate abt From Software, that felt like they had to bust ass through the game. You only get ONE first playthrough. One.

  7. Okay, I have one question, and I'd rather ask it here than anywhere else. How does multiplayer work in this game?

To be more specific, are there boundaries and such, I'm use to old souls having those specific summon areas then only being able to move around with your friends in those sections until you beat a boss and you get "kicked"

I want to know because it's now an open world and as far as I know, nothing is divided I to sections, atleast not in the same way it was in the older souls games. I'm aware the password system is back.

Just want to know because a friend of mine wants me to help him progress once I get my copy tomorrow.

  8. It's kinda baffling to me that nobody talks about the xbox calibration patch issue. Lots of ppl all over the world especially on Xbox cant play online cuz they are on 1.02 instead of 1.02.1 since launch none of these people can play online. Other games would have beeen roasted to the ground for this but I guess with Elden Ring stuff like that is completely fine
