Going back to the roots of Assassin’s Creed was a fantastic idea after much of the fanbase was fatigued due to the bloated content found in Odyssey or Valhalla. However, Ubisoft may have gone too close to the roots of the original Assassin’s Creed instead of evolving upon it. The ideas are sound, great even, but it all falls apart when these pieces come together.

Gonna star reviewing my own games cuz the reviews out these days are just bad😂
the teleport is just the Shunpo of bleach?
Darn shame… I hated Valhalla. Loved all previous AC games but Valhalla felt hollow and misguided.
Idk. I really love it to be honest.
Thank god I literally thought I was the only one so disappointed in this game
Lol,
How did ANYONE ever belive that returning to the boring ass old style gamplay would yield a good result.
The games FINALLY got worth playing with Origins and got much better with Odyssey and Valhalla.
I've been playing since the very first AC release and EVERYTHING I've said is a FACT😊
I've been enjoying this game.
Absolutely hate the game …. just a bad ripoff of previous entries … more of the same . the worst is the braindead AI that is the same for 15 years now…
Ive been enjoying mirage. It is very atmospheric, and does a great job at making it feel like i am actually in Baghdad, especailly with the map recreation. It just sucks how its become trendy to dislike ubisoft and modern day assassins creed. Even when credit is due, people still hate it because of the trend set.
Loooks BORING AF. gimme the last 3 rpg loot filled games anyday
You should not forget the studio that worked on this game has never made a game they just made dlc also they're far smaller studio of only 400 people and yet they made a true AC game unlike the original studio who made AC are the ones who went onto make the RPG version of the game and went away from what made AC an AC game, so let that sink a smaller studio that has never made a game was capable of making an old school AC game simply because like us they prefer the original style of games we grew up with and don't forget they had only two years to make this game with no prior game making experience, yet they made a pretty good game in such a short time span so imagine how this game could've been if they were given more time as they had to fight ubisoft to make it into a stand alone game and not just a dlc into Valhalla, also your complaint on collecting flags existed all the way up until Unity which also had a similar collection thing so this a part of the og series
What do you mean what happened nobody was getting a hyped for this game in the first place everybody knew it was just going to be another assassin's Creed game
Im happy that the assisins creed game franchise went back to its old roots of gameplay
It's too arcade-y looking. Too many prompts on screen at once.
It's interesting how all the dedicated Assassins Creed gamers constantly bash Creed. How it's gone down hill, etc. Meanwhile, I'm playing Assassin's Creed, Odyssey, and as a mere casual gamer and my first AC game, it's one of the most amazing games I've ever played. The rich attention to detail. The relative ease of game play on the PC considering the complexity of the world. Amazing.
As a fan of Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla (about 500 hours in the 3 games), I have zero interests in Mirage.
Is this a Mandela effect? Or do I specifically remember them saying that this was supposed to be a DLC but turned it into a full game?
I actually like the story for mirage. I think it needed a little more depth but overall its far better than Odyssey. And my god, Valhalla was so long by the time it ended, i didn't care anymore.
Also, not trying to spoil mirage so this will be kinda vague, but …
Given who Nethal actually is, do you really think there would further dynamic. Think about if you was basim. Like….its really had for me to discuss without spoilers. But i hope you think it over a little.
Also, i didnt have an issue with the stealth. Like it worked for me. And i usually cleared the ara of guards. I will admit theres a few areas were it impossible to clear out stealthily without cheesing or resulting to combat. But for those id just skip pass the guards and focus on the obj.
Wait for a sell? Nah, its a good game. There are some problems and end game content is zero. World activities are much. But the store and gameplay is there. You mentioned getting frustrated but i dont understand how. I got frustrated only once and it was due to one of the black box missions.
It seems review videos like this either claim stuff like "This game rekindled my love for the story," "the developers listened," "Ubisoft Bordeaux has proven to know the games better than montreal and Quebec," or completely other side of the spectrum, "the story sucks," "Stealth mechanics makes the game boring(youtuber who was an uber fan of the rpg games)," and even "the combat sucks…" Praise and critiques all come in only a handful of things. Personally, at 18 hours into the game about ready to target the leader of the order and has 100% everything up until that point I have enjoyed. If you are a fan of the rpg games and in specific the non stealth elements then this game is NOT for you. However if you are a fan of the older games where there was some modicum of strategy involved where you can't button mash to victory in combat then you may enjoy this game. Now this isnt to say this game is the best in the series, honestly i like ac 3 and brotherhood more but it is at the very least enjoyable.
It feels like this game’s CENTRAL PLOT was contrived by ChatGPT.
Because, from what I understand, the codex and lore entries about landmarks and famous locations are ACTUALLY well-written.
The combat on this mirage, had me playing Valhalla and Odyssey again. Since at least in these games. You can hold yourself against guard. While in mirage, if you got into a fight. You’re highly likely to get killed. So you run and hide, doing stealth assassinations. Adding they don’t let you increase your stamina gauge.
I feel odyssey was damn good
So practically, Assassin's creed has become a shadow of its former self even so far as repeating the same older terrible gameplay mechanics from their first installment and with a stale plot alongside a shallow protagonist*!!! RIP to Ubisoft then 😂 Anyways, Ghost of Tsushima is more Assassin's creed than this return.
Ghost of tsushima has made me realize how much these assassins creed creators have been slacking ,i refuse to play any AC nee game untik they reach ghost of tsushima level
You are wrong in my opinion. This is a fantastic game that goes back to its roots! Best Assassins Creed game in many years.
I don't like the eagle mechanic. It's boring and it makes no sense. I just use traditional Eagle Vision and aim a throwing knife at enemies to mark them at close range.
After putting about 10 hours into the game, i’ll give it a 7/10. Here’s why:
pros:
Great setting and atmosphere
Decent graphics although they need an upgrade for the next game
Fun parkour
it’s a simple and non bloated ac game
cons:
Lackluster story and character development
Dialogue is very robotic and poorly written
Clunky combat
Lack of weapon variety
Basically, the gameplay is good for the most part (combat could be better) but the story and writing is pretty shit
They ruined the series with mirage. They should’ve kept the whole odyssey and Valhalla theme, going action. RPG mixed with stealth the gameplay and reviews. For this game has made me not want to buy it. It looks like it sucks not interactive at all. Just do the mission and that’s it
My biggest issue is the lack luster combat. It's boring and has no depth at all. It's been this way since assassin's creed 3
So far it is good but I'm trying to upgrade Basim. Origins was the last best assassin's creed game. Vallaha takes too damn long to upgrade just like odyssey. I hope Mirage don't be like that.
Are there any rude interruptions from sassy, girlboss Abstergo employees? How about walk only missions? My thumbs can only take so much. Perfect AC game, no abstergo anything, no animus anything, world building on par with Origins and Odyssey, and a fleet of assassins to choose from all with different strengths and weaknesses. And get out of these dirty third world countries lol
Game is back to basics which is what this series needed. You have to be one of the cringiest YouTubers
Get these RPG nerds out of here man. RPG ruined the series if we keeping it real.
These facial models one of the worst i’ve seen. How the hell did we go from unity and syndicate facial animations to this?
Does a game studio just drop what works for something new or what? I don’t understand this idiocy
What happened???
UBISOFT happened.
I've been a long time AC fan since the beginning back in 07 I have every single game even but I have 0 interest in this one & will not be getting it until it goes down to like $20 I mean you have Orgins & AC 1 set in the middle east that was enough I think they should go with a more like souls like combat or ghost of tshumia type combat & for goodness sake better writing how about a civil war Era AC? OR WW2? or maybe even take place in 2000 when the great purge took place? I think people would get excited about that jmo though
Valhalla was god awful, Ubisoft is a garbage company, that focus more on woke garbage e. g
I'm more interested what Hexer gonna bring to AC series. By the sound of it could be both darker, supernatural or a more horror take on AC or that is what they made it sound like to be?
OMG you just got a sub with the go hear an press y!!!!!!!😅😅😅😅
Then you remember things like: the game was developed by a smaller ubisoft studio (Ubisoft bordeaux), and not the main montreal studio that did valhalla or unity and that it was developed with less time to work, and that the game was originally a Valhalla DLC, and this the video becomes worthless.
It's funny how people want games to "go back to their roots" yet complain these same games have no innovation or nothing new. Boggling.
When I seen it said this game looks older than origins and I was correct. We just wanted them to get back to letting us play as actual assassins we didn’t want that old playing style back.
please be good cuz actually I'm really excited…
AC3, AC1 > every other AC game
sorry
I am happy it is based of AC1 more then AC2 I hate this idea that AC1 doesn't exist
Mirage is a washed out mess
