  1. What a lovely audition. I never watched this program until coming across it here and there on YouTube. I thought it was just more American Idol and X factor and they found some talented individuals, but if you didn't fit into their box, you were out. There was a cookie cuter and if you didn't fill it just right, you didn't have talent, or the right kind of talent.

This program has much more to offer than its predecessors. 22 Men. I thought my Great Gran had the record with 4 husbands. The first 3 each died. My Grandad (her Son In Law) said they were dead because they knew the grave was the only place they were certain to be able to get away from her.

The story is that one of her husbands and she had a terrible row, as usual, but that night he just couldn't take it any more. My Nana and great aunts were just little girls huddled together in the other room. He went and took all the money from the kitty over the fireplace and left on a ferry over the channel, and fell in and drowned. There are a lot of stories about my great gran. She was formidable, but she was never single for long. She was quite pretty with auburn hair, green eyes and a fair complexion. Sort of the opposite of what was on the inside, I think.

#4 convinced her to immigrate to America, so of course, her 3 married daughters (one from each husband, no joking) and their spouses and children all had to join in, and that is how my mother and my entire family left Northern England, immigrated to America, found the tiniest town on the map out west, bought 1 acre of land each, side by side, and created our very own dead end street full of Brits.

I gre up on a lovely, quiet English street in the middle of Utah, USA.
