It's kinda ironic. I like souls-like games, but I couldn't give a single flying fuck about Elden Ring or any of its older identical twins.
I mean the Lost Ark playercount was going to go down in droves regardless. It's not hard to see that many of it's players were only there because of the hype and to be apart of the trend. It's a F2P Korean anime MMO. Did anyone really think it was going to have a good-sized, lasting playerbase?

Elden ring is not a mmo lol it's a filter rpg game where casuals are removed in perfection elden ring will be played alongside lost ark for a good period of time for gamers casuals will still play lost ark until then
One is a mmo game where u fan chill and one is a fking souls game a fing souls game open world rpg. If souls game dosent make u understand the meaning stating "this ain't a game for everyone ".this game was meant for whoevee passed ds 123 and demon souls elden ring has been made for these grindy challengers and not for fing casual andies who are crying abt magareth being too damn strong oh fk off that is wat rhw optional bosses are there for just say it the casual andies are lazy to explore.

played lost ark for around idk 91 hours and atm im no longer playing it. theres alot of things i wish they fixed and didn't do but for now im good with spending my days in elden ring

Not gonna lie. Dropped Lost Ark like a steamy turd the second Elden Ring came out. It's fine though, I will probably crawl back once I've beaten Elden Ring.
Yeah, I dont think Lost ark will be going anywhere. it may slink down into the 300k daily player range. but i think it'll retain quite a lot of players atleast for the next year or so. We'll just have to wait and see how enticing true endgame is. The pvp is what i think will make or break it.

Dude Lost Ark is genuinelly fuckin' impressive. Whoever doesn't like it, that's completely ok, but the game is crazy. I am continually amazed by the creativity of the devs. It's an mmo, yet when doing the solo content it feels like you are playing a completely different kind of rpg. I was questing and doing islands the other day and I went from badass cinematic cuts of my character jumping around on top of giant Demon's head to slay him (DMC style) to infiltrating religious sects and assassinating their leader (Assassin's creed) Then I was roaming the open seas and got on some weird island with talking animals and portals opening. Found some sleeping chick that is apparently lowkey gf material (lore wise) lmao. Never played an mmorpg that could be as immersive as a single player rpg

Games like Elden Ring will be hyped for a small period of time and then be almost forgoten like every other Singleplayer Game that was hyped prior to the release.
Lost Ark is still doing fine. Mind you, some regions/ countries are still locked
Smilegate owner has said his goal was 200k players, so they are well above their target.
But yeah, over months the playerbase will drop, just because people move on and other games are released.
Who cares? Elden Ring is a 40 hour game. Everyone will be back.

Elden Ring aint my jam… i stayed with Lost Ark… game play is choppy in ER, i was never a dark souls player.
