Harry Potter charity stream for trans rights actually sounds like the best way to approach the game if you really want to play it. I love Harry Potter too but i think it's hard to separate the art from the artist when they directly benefit and use their platform to promote hateful conduct. I won't be buying the game but I'll admit to being curious, and i think that a charity stream would be a good way to see the game and know that I'm not contributing to terf ideology.
I don’t personally think I can play the Harry Potter game for obvious reasons despite loving the books so much growing up, but I appreciate everyone should do what’s comfortable for them. I’m undoubtedly guilty of questionable consumerism, too, so I’m a hypocrite. I think I just draw my own line when it comes to upsetting the trans community, because of how much horror they face from people already. I don’t need to add to that. There is no right answer, though. That’s just my personal position (that I won’t try to ‘enforce’ on anyone).
I think leslie playing Hogwarts Legacy is perfect, it’s a win in my books, we get to enjoy Harry Potter and we don’t have the need to buy the game ourselves and just enjoy her playing it.

Something about hogwarts legacy to also consider (in addition to the issue of jkr being transphobic) is that Jewish people have been pointing out antisemitic themes the game doubles down on, within the depiction of goblins. I think that's also something to note when considering how to handle the game.

I see a lot of people in chat saying “we don’t care about politics” or “who cares about politics?” and it’s honestly just so funny because they can never understand things that doesn’t affect their privileged life. Everyone who isn’t privileged enough to have the luxury of ignoring sociopolitical issues cares about politics. But of course yall wouldnt understand it *because you have no interest in changing the world that suits you so well*. It’s sad that Leslie’s community is filled with so many inconsiderate people even when she’s such an amazing and caring person, but ofc that’s quite inevitable.
