  1. About the drunk bigot : People say it's a Weiss development moment (look how far she's gone etc.) and I believe that's true but I also agree with everything you said and felt it was in poor taste because it was obviously a depiction of the people, a steelman as you said. Only thing I wanted to add was all of that happened and instead of helping or correcting him they just did slapstick violence in a serious show. It was like, haha we fucked him up after he said something we don't like, this society we live in should work like this! Anyway thanks for the videos you're doing a great job.

  2. Yeah, I heavily disagree with your assessment with the drunks scene on the first episode man. I get that you want different viewpoints steelmanned and shown intelligently, but bigots aren't intelligent people. Trust me, as a transwoman there just aren't intelligent transphobes. All of them rely on fear, paranoia, misinformation, terrible science and an infants understanding of biology. You cant show qn intelligent transphobe because they dont exist. Same with racism, intelligent racists just don't exist. Not to mention if you show bigoted ideas favourably in media there's a good chance some people in the audience will view those views favourably IRL. Showing racist people in a good light in media could very well influence gullible viewers into thinking IRL racists are smart.

  3. – just walk casually, we're just a group of people, many of whom are obviously armed, and with much more colourful clothing than the locals. I'm sure we won't stand out at all. 😋
    – huh, one of the thing's on Peitro's shelves is a model/sculpture of a sperm whale. Which ties into him being based on Gepetto.
    – once again, Beef "How does everyone know us?" immediately after Ruby "You know us?" That Foreshadowing Semblance someone suggested for Beef is still going strong.😄
    – yeah, the vast majority of fans reacted about the same as you when Penny arrived. 😊
    – The Ace Ops (the members of which are inspired some of Aesop's Fables) and Atlas Specialists, like Winter.
    – every 3 volumes, they get new outfits. 🙂
    – nah, he's not part of the Happy Huntresses, he's just a fanboy.
    – Ruby's not lying about the lamp, that is what Oz told them.😏
    – And again; Beef "He's giving it back?" 1 second later Ruby "You're giving it back?" 😊
    – as someone else mentioned, the last 3 or 4 eps of Vol 6 and these first 2 eps of Vol 7 have all been a single (very long) day.
    – not so much a Grimm attack as a Tyrian attack
    – Not the same Geist. just another of that type of Grimm.
    – It took 7 volumes, but Jaune finally has a Landing Strategy. 😋

  4. All of Remnant lacks law on Discrimination one way or the other. The State and it’s institutions neither enforce it nor use it themselves, but also don’t have any protections against its use by the private sector. From there, it’s more conjecture, but I’d wager the upper crust stoke racial tension to divide the poor from unionizing and the poor eat it up because of a mix of media propaganda and lifeboat theory.

  5. That question is a little like asking "if the American military is completely integrated / no longer segregated, why is there still racism in America?" … two things can be true at the same time. Atlas Academy has faunus students like Neon Katt and the Ace Ops have Marrow. Institutional change within top down institutions is easier than moving the needle on society-wide bigotry, etc.

  6. Remember that Ironwood is fully aware that Beacon and Haven were attacked by Salem. He expects to be next.

And what you call hypocrisy, I see as teenagers going through the process of learning exactly the thing you're getting mad at them for not knowing. I see good writing, demonstrating HOW we learn that the world has a lot of nuanced pressures we can't always perceive or comprehend at first glance, and that the elders we get mad at may have had reasons for making less-than-ideal choices.

  7. Maybe your arc for this season is you finally get vindicated on your guesses. I mean you had a number of major wins this video with Penny being alive, the identity of Jepedo, the decision to keep Ozpins secrets having some logic, and about telling everyone about Salem, and that it was Tyrian hiding in the dark at the end. Then again, who knows what happens next episode.

  8. The funniest thing to me is when they first meet ironwood in atlas they tell him they stole the ship and Ironwood actually smiles at the idea. Which shows he hadn't completely gone over the edge yet.

  9. I think it’s valid that Team RWBY didn’t know, but the idea that it was hidden from Oscar and Qrow is a harder take. Your right though, they are starting to realize the different grey areas.

  10. Tyrion being "Jack the Ripper" is completely in his element with the dark back streets of mantle. I also believe Tyrion is a play on the tale of the Scorpion and the Frog so they are a combination of both.

  12. I think what makes Ironwood so interesting is that he always has good intentions. Always.
The problem is, we know what kind of road you pave with those.

As for the secrets question, the team was upset because he was hiding things and they felt they had done enough to earn his trust. They currently are just waiting until they can trust that Ironwood isnt a psycho dictator before they tell him. They fully intend to, but are being cautious. They have good intentions too.

  13. Beef: “What are they so tired from?” …bruh they literally spent all their time when leaving, fighting a mech, Giant Grimm, Murdering a Ginger Asshole who I may or may not be related to, and then took their stolen airship to atlas and hit the ground running, fought more Grimm, got Arrested and just simply wanna go to bed 😂

  14. I do like the idea of Ironwood's plan to tell the world about Salem. The thing is, Salem keeps this veil of secrecy and so does Ozpin, but for opposing reasons. Ozpin believes humanity won't survive through the panic and chaos of the reveal, while Salem ironically believes in the best of humanity, that they will survive and unify against her if the world learns about her.

  15. 1:04:54 "What are they so tired from?"

    Really?

They just got arrested, after fighting off a grim attack in Mantle, after flying across the ocean to another continent in a stolen airship, after fighting off a Leviathan Grimm horde, after fighting a giant mech and a possessive, hell-bent White Fang renegade leader – all with ZERO rest…

Why would they possibly be tired…

    … hehe
