  1. In neo-Bolshevik Russia, Putin organizes "elections" with himself re-elected. These are elections without choice. These are unfree, shameful elections. Thousands of political prisoners have been killed, languished in prison, or fled from Putin's Chekists and neo-Bolsheviks. The Russian people are oppressed and deprived of freedom. It should be remembered that in Bolshevik Stalinist Russia there was Soviet democracy (Bolshevism) and there were elections. Stalin, like Putin, was also elected and re-elected. But this did not give freedom to the Russian people, just as Putin’s democracy and rigged elections do not give it to them.

  2. 2 reasons,
1, to distract from the pretty dire Ukrainian situation on the front lines where territory is lost to the Russians every second day.
2, To attack and cause as much disruption in the Russian Federation while a 3 day presidential election is taking place.
However one can predict that Russian retaliation will be significant and harsh, especially considering how weak the Ukrainian air defence network is at present.

  3. Useless futile attacks…instead of focusing to strengthen the defence, they just wasted their troops and let them die in Russia…they failed to learn from history, where Napolean failed, they will succeed with their limited manpower resource and weapons and ammunition ?

  4. They are attacking , because , offensive operations lead to decisive outcomes. Being on the deffensive is more likley that they might lose the war. If they turn Russia to deffensive actions , Ukraine will be controling the conflict in their favour.

  6. Ukraine is not use to a war of attrition, the only force that have the capability to wear down any force using this strategy is the Russians. Ukraine have been employing NATO tactics since 2014. Attacking civilians in Belgorod to distract from failures elsewhere is a war crime.
