Against All Odds: Albino Model Sakura’s Fight with a 1-in-20,000 Rare Disease

Hello everyone, it’s Yuriko here.

This channel is dedicated to interviewing Japanese people and foreigners living in Japan to share the real Japan with the world.

This time, it’s an interview with Sakura, an albino model making her mark.

Also, this channel provides dual subtitles in both Japanese and English, so it would be great if it could be of assistance to those studying Japanese.

Lastly, if there are any topics you’d like us to cover in interviews with Japanese people or foreigners living in Japan, please let me know in the comments.

Well then, here we go!!!

  1. This is an excellent inspirational interview!!! When I was a young child, in elementary school I had a friend with albinism and I remember she was so similar with many visual impairments, however we all played everyday and never thought about it except we knew about her sensitivity to sunlight and were very mindful of it even as kids.

I'm really happy to see you did this interview! 🎶🎶🎶

  2. Such a great interview, I learned a lot about albinism. And as you said, her views are inspiring, I hope that she can be a teacher in the future.
Also, she would make a great cosplay of Shiro (from Dead Man Wonderland). I really liked this format of interview.

  3. I briefly dated a Korean girl with albinism. Her eyes were blue but also had the involuntary eye movements. I never knew it was part of her albinism. I hope she's doing well.

  4. oh we have lots of black albino people in Africa and the west, I didn't know Japanese had albino people too, they should check out famous actor Marvin Jones III ( Krondon) his albino black person.
