Problem you make comments such as Super Nova occurring in Alpha Centari what is impossible due to the stars all being dwarf class stars you are just trying to scare people. Earth does not have any close stars in our immediate neighborhood that will go Supernova. The closest Super giant what will go Super Nova is Betelgeuse what may have already exploded but since it is 427 light years away it could take centuries before we see it. In order for a Supernova to effect Earth and strip our atmosphere it would need to be 25 light years or less in distance to us. Lucky for us Astronomers have found no stars within that radius that will go super nova. Its also should be noted we are all here because of a Supernova in the distant past since heavy elements are created in a supernova blast including the carbon in your bodies.
