  1. Correction: According to the original text, Rama actually got extremely raged when the Sea-God did not appear despite his 3 day-long worship dedicated to the god. Then Rama decided to drain the whole sea with his divine arrow and warned the sea-god accordingly. Out of aghast, the sea-god appeared at last and suggested ways to cross the sea. This dramatic chapter is called 'Samudra-Shasana' (A lesson to the sea).

  2. The absolute rubbish that makers (and sometimes actors, I'm looking at you Arjun Kapoor) think audience will gobble up just in the name of religion, reverness and sacredness is mind boggling. I'm so glad people are rightly calling out this BS without any fear of some jobless keyboard warrior.

  3. Ok, this is quite crazy, the nightcrawler vs Joe fixit fight at 1:21 is from a mobile game called "Marvel contest of champions" which I've been playing for the past 4 years. The fact that jammy placed this game scene in one of his videos is like the unexpected crossover I've never experienced in my life. Thanks jammy for bringing together this moment for me.

  4. I watched this movie today, just so I could see what all the hype was about. I've read multiple versions of Ramayan and watched multiple adaptations of it – animated, TV, whatever. This movie was ridiculous.

It was an insult to every character. It was an insult to the original story. It was an insult to the audience.

    I have so many questions..

Why do so many characters not have names? The woman who comes along with Vibhishan is never introduced to the audience. We never learn her name is Sarma. Similarly there is an old man in Raavan's army. He has more screen time than Kumbhakaran, but we don't know his name. Again because I know the story, my assumption is that he is Akampana – Ravan's uncle.

Why is Ravan never using the pushpak viman? They have multiple shots of the Pushpak Viman in Lanka. It's white and gold design stands in stark contrast to all the black, minimalistic architecture. What was with the pet bat-like monster? Yet, Raavan never uses it. It is only used by Ram, Sita and Lakshman at the end.

Why couldnt any of the characters have backstories? We dont know the names of Ram and Lakshman's mothers. there is no mention of Shatrughna. We don't know the name of Sitas family. We dont know why Indrajit is called Indrajit. What is up with that?

Why were so many people in Lanka wearing fur? Lanka is a tropical country. It's hot, and raining. It's not cold enough to require fur shrugs and wraps. Ridiculous.

Why did they take away from every character? They make Ravana seem ridiculous. But everyone knows he was a very learned man, a good king and a talented man. In fact it is believed that the 10 heads of Ravana represent the six shastras and four Vedas, so why do they show him as such a one-dimensional character?

We don't see any love between Ram and Lakshman. Its just Lakshman continuously giving suggestions or saying things and Ram telling him he's wrong or ignoring him. "Don't eat the fruits." Ram eats the fruits. "We should've sided with Vali" Ram shoots Vali. Even between Ram and Hanuman. We don't know how Hanuman knows Ram, or why Ram hugs Hanuman. There is no character establishment.

Every story talks about how Lakshman cut off Shurpanakhas nose. She is mutilated, she is maimed. Her beauty is snatched away. In this movie it looks like she got a bruise. I've had worse reactions when my nose ring has got stuck in a towel.

Everything about Indrajit and Kumbhakaran was a travesty. There is no explanation as to why Kumbhakaran is sleeping. There is no explanation why Indrajit has superspeed. It would have made more sense to give Hanuman super speed cuz they vaguely reference that in the Hanuman Chalisa.

Also, if Hanuman is a vanar why does he look soooo different from the rest of them? And why is the bear so small? There were vanars who were bigger than him.

Why were there no dialogues? The movie had such few dialogues, it was ridiculous. I get the whole 'show don't tell' message, but this was extreme. Why does Ravan have the most number of dialogues in a movie about Ram?

Why were there no people? Ayodhya is empty. It's coronation day, but when Kaikeyi and Dashrath are speaking the throne room is empty. When Ram, Lakshman and Sita leave, the palace is empty. All throughout in Lanka, it's empty, except the soldiers. There was one interpretation of Ramayana where Hanuman finds Sita very easily because everyone in Lanka is happy because they are so well-taken care of, and the only person unhappy in that entire city is Sita.

Where did the ashok vatika go? Literally, it is a forest of ashoka trees – which have bright orange flowers. The makers were so hell-bent at making everything so gritty and dark. It's like what Netflix has done with every live action remake of popular franchises like Winx, Archies or Sabrina. It was so ridiculous.

This movie was the worst adaptation I think I've ever seen. I sincerely believe the writers should just take the L. They can just say, we tried something, it didn't work, we'll do better next time. The doubling down on their pathetic work is laughable, and could blow up in their faces.

  5. In the anime when Rama decided to cremate enemy warriors and goes on to give an anti-war monologue, still touches heart of children and adults alike.
Everyone related to adipurush should be ashamed to use religion only and the present hundutwa wave to earn money.

  6. Something which really upset me is… how Lord Ram is shown like a warrior rather than a dutiful king, son, husband n brother..
We have seen so many versions of Ramayana.. always.. lord Ram has been of calm n pleasant appearance n not someone mighty "bhaubali" …
Here.. Raghav himself like a body builder n fighter..so much so.. that even Hanuman doesnt come out as mighty in front of Ram..
    Absolute joke.
Look at any version of Ramayana.. or any photos or statues of Lord Ram with Hanuman..
Hanuman has to look mightier than Ram…
Prabhas just didnt suit here in appearance.. and they should have taken.. someone else for Hanuman

  7. I have always appreciated your takes on movies and in the present case too, I totally agree with you. Just one point if you're blaming someone for not researching enough, you should at least not make such a mistake. The fact that you only watched one animation movie to review a film that has its roots in our revered epic is such a ludicrous thing. Yeah, but one thing is true. Adipurush movie is undoubtedly a total failure.

  8. Prabhas as Ram was a disappointment. Only Saif acted well but he was dressed as a Mughal emperor …only Kriti looked little convincing.

Nd Hanuman was potrayed with no reverence to the respect ppl have for him…i even thought the make up was poorly done…Why was the film made like this? Such a great opportunity lost

  9. There was such a strong emotional disconnect between the audience and the actors. At no point in the movie did I feel like rooting for Prabhas, not like I rooted for Saif but still. The only time I felt tense was during the Jataiu scene. We all know that Jataiu dies, but I was rooting for him. When I was watching Brahmastra I was rooting for Ranbir and Alia regardless of how annoying they were. This was missing in Adipurush. AND THE ENDLESS SLOW MOTION SHOTS OF PRABHAS!
The first scene with the saste dementors had no reason. Why were they there? Anyway, treated the movie like a comedy and had fun.

  10. What do you mean what exactly went wrong with Adipurush😂
This film itself is wrong, and is a shame to ourselves, i feel so amgry that Foreigners are going to watch this and think that this is what happened, but only we know the truth that Adipurush makers just want money and thats it, they dont care about Ramayan and our connection to it
