I'm sorry, but I can't get behind John keeping the baby for 9 years without trying harder to find its family. Sure, he saved the baby, but to raise a child that isn't yours without even seeking out its parents is not heroic. Even if he loved the boy, does that make it okay to take someone else's child just because it makes him feel better about his past loss?
He did not “take” the ABANDONED BABY, as in KIDNAPPING it. He RESCUED A BABY THAT HAD BEEN DISCARDED AS “UNWANTED” — BIG DIFFERENCE! When you find a living creature (human or animal), that is in obviously need of Life’s’ basic needs, the first thing you should do is to make sure that they have no injuries, then get them warmed up, fed and cleaned up, THEN you address its’ other issues, seek who left it castaway.
The guy in this story did just these things by instinct. He felt the same thing to PROTECT the innocent baby, and since no one came forward seeking the abandoned infant, he normally took care of him and became emotionally attached.
What a wonderful story I was there I love anything about the waters whether it be sea or lake I grew up on a lake front raised by grandparents then I taken at a very early age to be placed in school I would presume unlike the little boy in the story he was taken back to live the life he only knew I didn't have that option I kept going further apart further away from the heart of land I loved and knew as my home but I never made back by the time I grew my grandparents had passed I enjoyed this story very much it took me back to my roots even just for short memoir thank you for sharing this look forward to reading more 🎉❤
How irresponsible does one have to be to raise a child for 9 years without questioning their past? The fact that he just 'discovered' something horrific after all this time makes me wonder if he even cared about the child beyond his own narrative of being a 'savior
Amazing story!!! I love it!!! It is said…"The sea takes and the sea gives" John lost his wife and son in the storm near the sea abd they were never found. After some years he found baby Jake at tge sea.
Yes it was sad but guess his wife and son died😢😢 well it was great he found this baby I'm glad they stay together money isn't everything love of a child is more❤❤
