  1. So, just like the Dragon they fought, the magical creature which is the physical manifestation of fear and power that is linked to the weapon dracodios (the staff).

Will is also a magical creature, linked in a utopia book, which is the Prince's physical manifestation of his dreams and ideals. The foreshadowing is there, amazing!

  2. So Will turned out to be the prince, but we know he's 18 and according to Louis he was conceived during the king's "youthful years of debauchery*. This means the king really didn't age well, but I guess that's what 12 years of crippling depression can do to someone

  3. Love how many subtle hints there are in the game that point towards this revelation once you play to this point and can reflect. It’s crazy how night and day the writing in this game is compared to how all of the major reveals were handled in persona 5. I hope all the games going forward can have this level of writing and character interaction.

  4. I don't think you need to worry about people disliking this twist. This is just so amazing, narratively, and meta textually

The fantasy protagnist is often a wish fulfilment daydream where we become the best we can be exploring the world to its fullest and knowing the hearts of the people within it. A goal many never achieve due to circumstances and anxiety

So, Will being a fictional character thought up by the prince is just so amazing and impactful, literally recontextualising everything he has done as actions of a being unshackled by anxiety and living the best life due to being a character literally out of a storybook

Also the game is being incredibly meta as we as ATLUS and JRPG fans we expect a silent protag to be standard fair but to have a canon explaination as to why he is a blank slate and that he is the wish fufillment of the prince and of us given form and is not done pessimistically but as an endorsement for the fantasy genre just feels so fufilling.

The character is the best of who we want to be, and it's possible to become that person if we strive to overcome our fears and grow in connection with people and the world.

This feels so gratifying that Atlus has created a fully well realised main protagonist in conjunction with the players' choice

  5. They cooked with the story, I don't mind if its the same "essence" of a "it was you all along" type of story, all that should matter is how to make that usual story interesting and in my opinion they did in this game.

  6. Since I had "Will & Prince are the same guy" (and nothing else) spoiled for me, I started a crack theory that More & the king are the same guy
    istg if I'm right lmaooooo

Honestly, Will's been my fav day 1, and having that detail spoiled me a wee more invested in him. Since then I've been curious about how it's go down and wow.
Never did I even come close to predicting this lol but oh my god it's absolutely amazing.
Maaaaan I can't wait to see how it goes from here 🥹🙏
I'll miss the homophobia in his eyes, but he still looks cool <3

  7. Hulkenberg was on a wild emotional journey this episode.

The more we hear about the King, the more I wonder if he's going to be the true final boss.

Twist caught me off guard. It was actually decently foreshadowed.

Will's new look is cool. It looks like he awoke Ultra Instinct.

The intentions were good, but Gallica and Will were subject to a huge mind screw.

I can't blame Heismay and Basilio for being confused about Will/the prince's relationship.

The Sanctists hid history to cover up past mistakes which led to more atrocities.

Prince archetype reminds me of Ceasar from P3.

It's kind of sad, knowing Louis named his ship after his dead family.

Metaphor has a unique take on the origin of magic.

The biggest mystery left is More's situation. He mentioned he traveled with a friend, got betrayed and wound up getting imprisoned by the King. I thought the friend who betrayed him was the King or Louis, though I'm leaning towards Louis now, since Louis is actually a native of that village.

  8. yeah, honestly, i was thinking the same that more is the king and thus Will's father.

makes sense like u said the horns the hair. and the first cutscene that ever plays Louis says to the oing that he once dreamt of utopia.

Will recieved the book from his parents. it just makes so much sense for more to be his father and that voice his mom. hopefully its the case and they can explain it well.

  9. Game did a good job of hiding hints about this plot twist. One I found was how Will clutched his chest when he first witnessed the king's magic. I thought it was his archetype reacting to it, I now think he was feeling the phantom pain from the thorns on the prince.

  10. a lot of joke from others when they play the game at the launch day, since our protag is started with 1 virtue each, some of them joking that our protag is actually a racist intolerance person. But with this revelation twist, it turns out that our protag is actually a "newborn" meaning newly born from magic therefore of course he doesn't now that much about the world. so we explore and do activities to increase our virtues essentially our protag is learning and understand the world. Now no one joke about it anymore lol. With this twist now it is makes sense why our protag started with 1 virtue each.

  11. I've always felt that there was something more to Will than other silent/Atlus protags. Maybe it's the voice acting, maybe it's that I'm watching you play the game (so I'm seeing Johne AND Will as entities separate from myself). Whatever it is, he definitely balances feeling like a character AND a vessel for the player better than most silent protags (the P3 Makoto twist didn't do it for me, for isntance). This twist only cements it for me (though I was predicting them being brothers, one raised by each parent).

  12. so something fun that I noticed is about Will's hair. When its blue, you can see small flecks, SUPER tiny bits of black magla flaking away from him. Almost like he's dying, like the people we see on the side of the streets. That effect? Gone after the hair color changes. He's finally living again

  13. {Yr 2; Day 165} of been impressed by P5R and waiting for P6.
    Time for the convergence…

10:54 Aaaaaand, I was right. Great twist! It was definitely hinted at at several points in the game. I just need answers for who the hell did this? Is the female voice part of the King's Magic, or is it Will's mother? Good stuff honestly, with this I'm officially all in for voting Metaphor as GOTY this time onwards. I don't think Black Myth even compares, and thats surprising to me considering how adament I was on that stance.

The Prince was Down-To-Earth since the very start huh, makes sense though since he was never given much special treatment and lived his life in pain due to the curse. The fact that we were the Prince's idealized self is really something, literally his Dragon. Which means that the book is probably a relic of the past world, capable of creating "Living Fantasies?" I think?

    18:31 *British jumpscare
I LOVE British Will SO MUCH…damn I can't wait to hear more of him talking…

43:55 I think I understand what Grand Fantasy is, awakening to your True Heroic Embodiment. Its literally a Third Awakening…thats incredible. Seems like only the protag can use Prince Archetype though, its unique to him and him alone. Thats so damn cool…

53:34 Reminds me of Radagon or Nameless King from Soulsborne series, it literally embodies POWER.

    58:25 Dude…I though the Masquerade Dance + Adventurer's Curiosity + Winning Horse was broken…

    Game of the Effing Millenia…
