  1. I bought a 2003 with 16,000 miles in 2015. Little old lady's garage kept car . . . $3,750 . . . it now has 56,000 miles. I'll drive it 'till the wheels fall off. The only thing I've had to replace is a power steering hose and of course the tires. They only had 16,000 miles on them (Michelin) but they were 12 years old and I was going on a 2,000 mile trip . . . The only other car I own is a 1993 Chevy Caprice I bought from the original owner in the year 2000 . . . best car I've ever owned. Always wanted the wagon version with the factory tow package. I love big cars with rear wheel drive. By The Way . . . Whoever buys this, when you start hearing a creaking noise . . . it's the hood latch . . . They all do it after a while.

  2. Given that this was Charlie’s pampered car – I’ll bet he paid to have the air suspension installed at the dealer. I am not aware of any 2010’s with factory installed air suspension. But everything would have been there to make it a straight forward conversion. In a similar fashion I have seen 2008 and newer being retrofitted with factory sunroof at the dealership even though it was NLA as a factory installed option.

  3. I've always had an appreciation for the Panther platform. I really admired their intentions. My parents think they're sinfully ugly and just old fart cars but I've always had a soft spot for them. They're super plush, comfortable, body-on-frame luxo-barges. The truly last old-school American luxury sedan. And the fact that it had such a long legacy which made its way into the very early 2010s. It's great it lasted so long. I miss seeing these in police/taxi cab fleets. And to make it even better, they were rock-solid reliable with simple maintenance. Not perfect by any means but could easily achieve 200K-300K milestones or more. Speaking of, I saw a mint 1991 Lincoln Town Car in light blue with the navy blue interior at my work earlier this week (an older lady driving it of course) The kicker is that it only had 43,000 original miles and when I peaked inside, it truly is a time capsule and a gorgeous car. She said she's had offers from strangers to buy it off her hands for a premium and denied them because of how much love she has for it. I would feel the same way in her shoes.

  4. I have the same exact car. Same year and color. Bought it with 59000 miles. It now has 69000 miles. Car is very reliable and is very comfortable. Wish I had another one for the wife. I also have a 2003 Murcury Marauder with 28000 original miles that I only drive on the weekends. Love these cars wish Ford would consider building something like this again in the future.

  5. Ant, have you officially crossed over to the dark side (Ford)? Lol, only kidding, glad you're not pigeon holed and appreciate beauty in all forms.

  6. Few people would feel bad about breaking up a his and hers set of Mercury's. Glad you took that in consideration. Would be hard to sell them as a set, tho that would have been neat.
