  1. Mary Winkler got away with murder. Unbelievable that her word about sexual abuse was taken as fact with no proof, just hearsay. Matthew, being deceased, was not able to defend himself against her accusations. Her manipulation, however, is quite obvious from start to finish. She was even manipulating banks – his name was on nothing, just hers. Again, he could not defend himself against her claim that it was "really" him doing it. Money is often behind murders, yet the jury didn't think it was of concern. She killed him with a SHOT GUN – in his back, while he was sleeping. Wow. She told the police after she murdered him, that she's got courage and self-esteem, and proved it by going to bars and celebrating while out on bail. She put on a different "wig" to play coy and small in the courtroom, even having her hand held like a child as she walked in and out of court. And she knew she was guilty when she ran away with the children to the beach knowing she would have to go to jail to pay for her crime. But this case is a disgrace of the criminal justice system because Mary didn't stay there for long – Mary was going to get away with murder. In any other county, no one would be shot in his bed, in his back, while sleeping, and then have vicious stories told about him, again with the inability to defend himself, with money as a motive… and the spouse/murderer gets to walk free. May God Bless Matthew Winkler's Mother, Father, Children, loved ones, and his soul for having to endure this travesty of justice.

  2. That place is a%$ backward they presented no evidence of abuse or mental abuse as fact. Those idiots went off that as fact because she said it's true. The dead dude can't refute the claim of course, you can say I was the Devil. I didn't hear the lawyer stop them on the hear say, so I know they are bad.

  3. I wish these people would stop claiming they are religious. Once you kill, that is no longer for you. It's not a forgiveness you can get that's going to fix that it's why it's a commandment. Cops can use all the excuse they want that's man law. Other than defense of your life, which was his gift to your parents, I don't see forgiveness. Give it if you want. I don't think it means anything but to ease your mind.

  4. Was allowed to literally get away with murder. I blame prosecutor for focusing too much on the fraudulent checks. Those were just a sample of the true Mary in my opinion, reckless, selfish and likely the abuser after all, she knew courts always believed the women are the abused not the abuser. For one so meek, able to call Oprah for an interview and Oprah being a seasoned interviewer could see she was lying, why didn’t the backwards thinking jurors. They were more focused on the platform shoes and wig which I am certain are Mary’s alter ego when she goes to other towns to do what she does best. These fake Christians who say they know the Bible yet, have a warped interpretation of it.
