Alex should understand the "peace through strength" concept. Apparently he's a liberal. Magically, the Xylarian research ship that wasn't a military vanguard becomes a military vanguard. Focus all the Earth weapons on a man inside an Earth ship, ship is not destroyed, no explanation for that forthcoming. Twenty minutes waiting for a good story to develop….wasted.
This is a great idea that should be expanded upon.
