  1. Says who. I have successfully outsourced my humanity. That's why you have chiritable foundations while you make millions of dollars off the backs of people that make pennies to my dime. And you get a tax write off

  2. Just another way to hold yourself above those objectively more successful: "well theyre less human because they have so many resources they dont have to personally get their hands dirty to help a friend". Help is help, they just have options.

  3. Eh, I'd rather have AAA change my tire than my best friend. They won't eff it up. Probably not the best example of what he was trying to say. A better example would have been a rich dude who hires a lackey to buy birthday gifts for his wife and kids.

  4. I dont think he’s saying it’s bad to have the option to do something like that but sometimes it’s better to show up for your friend instead of having someone else do it for you

  5. Idk this just isnt a good example, if my time is worth 500$ an hr and a tow truck is 200, why wouldn't i send the tow truck ? I think a better example would be giving people expensive gifts INSTEAD of spending time with them.

  6. The timing of this is impeccable. I just got back from the local shop and saw that someone was giving a mate or a stranger a jump start rather than leaving them in a position to have to call roadside assistance.

I was really pleased to see it. Like 'yeah! That's my community'.
