  1. This only works if Shanahan uses the same offense for both QBs. I have no problem with how he develops as long as he develops. The jury’s out if Kyle is a good enough coach for this. I don’t think he is but we’ll see.

  2. It’s almost like some people have this fantasy about Trey being this big epic quarterback. that’s just a fantasy. And you can tell when he through doing games he didn’t play all that great.

  3. There should be a competition every season, Idc what happened in previous seasons.

But at the same time, Kyle needs to have the same playbook for both QBs regardless of having a rushing feature or not, it's not fair to Trey because he isn't a Running QB

  4. Purdy earned his teammates respect by practicing well against the #1 defensive team.

If Trey can't do the same, it's on him. No BS scrambles, force yourself to get rid of the ball in 2s and work on your scattershot accuracy.

  5. Sorry but Lance ain’t it. I was the biggest Lance fan during the draft when everyone wanted Fields. I watch Lance play and I really think he ain’t it whether people want to get their hopes up or not. Purdy has shown more to me and can improve from here on out. Niners got lucky drafting Purdy

  6. Everybody is sooo concerned about Lance….and why? What makes him so special? He’s a big boy..he can make decisions for himself..his future is in his hands..if he can beat out Purdy in TC, the job will be his…..creating unnecessary division here…

  7. Grant is officially Fanning out over Purdy smh🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

Trey is miles ahead of Purdy!!!

Purdy is a back up doing what a back up does, and that’s win games until the starter gets healthy.

Y’all act like y’all don’t like Jimmy G, but Purdy is nothing but Jimmy 2!!! Just younger.

All imma say is Vinny Testaverde.🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

  8. Why wouldn’t the Niners keep Trey through the end of his rookie contract? He’s there, he knows the system, and they invested the capital in him. Name Brock the starter, keep Trey as your backup and keep it moving.

  9. Ryan stop! No!! Purdy is still a lot closer to his floor than he is to his ceiling. How can you even think that a rookie with 4 starts is close to his ceiling?! That is insane! No! Stop!! No. His floor is just much much higher than that of Trey’s but he’s still far closer to his floor than he is to his ceiling. Seriously, he has so many defenses to see, so many situations to live, so much to learn. No, saying he’s close to his ceiling is very very silly to say.

  10. it will be good for trey to have to battle it out even if he isnt the week 1 starter next year. if he's really the guy it will make him better and he will get there even if it take a little longer than expected.

  11. Why draft Trey if you want a Purdy/Jimmy G QB. He was drafted because his profile is familiar. If there was an injury they could go back to the Jimmy offense. Trey is another animal and will crush if they ever commit.

  12. Anyway do you believe with Brock party did the other day with the game on the line twice really three times and the number two seed hanging in the balance most rookies may have faltered and then the coach would have been saying it's not their fault it's not their fault it's a team game with singing the defense he came through and won a game in overtime a game we should have won the game we should have lost a game we could have won the game we could have lost he pulled one out now he not only blows you out now he f**** does the comeback trick on you

  14. Purdy is doing things, agreed, im not hating Purdy period, tbh its a up hill battle for trey even more than it was when he came in to start. It's a good situation for qb competition next season, and injuries happen, folks. Lance needs reps for sure, but im not declaring a bust or trade because we haven't seen enough sample size. My opinion. both qbs on rookie deals, so im not complaining.

  15. #2 spot is a great place for Trey to be. Takes the unrealistic expectations off of him, lets him develop , and lets Purdy carry the weight for awhile, which he is perfectly capable of doing.

  16. This is why it was a bad thing to trade up to get Trey Lance. Your spot was at 12th, you needed to stay put unless you really got a good deal to move up. The 49ers gave up a lot to just draft someone at #3.

It was a disservice to the team and to Trey Lance. He could have end up in Atlanta and he would have 2 years of experiences by now. Justin Fields was given the opportunities to play.

  17. In the NFL its easier than ever for QBs to stay healthy and we had 2 QBs earlier in the year that proved they can't do it for an extended period. Now its Brock's turn until he plays himself out of the position. I like Trey and think he has potential but he has a lot to prove still. I'm looking forward to the comp though, assuming there is one. Should make both QBs much better.

  18. There's no grounds to suggest that Purdy is near done developing. Dude doesn't even know the entire playbook yet. If Trey Lance can turn into Josh Allen who's to say Brock Purdy can't be the next Drew Brees? I'd argue the latter has shown more promise to meet that than the former to this point.

  19. Big Trey fan but on a human level not a fan level. Next season should be Treys last on the team. If he doesn't get reps. Obviously he needs lots of reps in game.He needs experience to have a career. Don't want him to go but. I want him to get he's opportunity. Hope. The team is patient. Or Treys patient to waits for the right time.

  20. why are we saying qb competition like it’s going to happen trey lance is the starter next season they invested 3 1st round picks into a guy and they don’t even know how good he is

  21. No, we need to trade him away to get draft picks back. We need an experienced backup like a Sam Darnold. Trey lance ain't going to cut it. The NFL is too much for him to handle. He will not be able to perform with so little experience.

  23. I think Lance needs to start or we need to move on I think making a commitment to someone is a strong leadership move as a fan I dont like a ton of this internal drama. I just hope we ship Jimmy hes gotta go.

  24. If Brock gets us far in the playoffs NFC Championship or even the SB he has earned the right to start because Jimmy will be gone and Trey can back up Purdy and continue to develope and heal 100%
