World of DVC Show Episode 16: History of The Food & Wine Festival & The Magic of Give Kids The World

Welcome to one of the most heartwarming, funny, and truly magic-filled show in the history of the World of DVC Shows (and that’s a lot to say given all of our ‘long standing traditions’)

Marissa, Derek & Kerri open the episode by putting an end to the much heated
“Bags /Cornhole/Bean Bag Toss” discussion from last month’s episode (hint, Derek is one of the losers). Kerri and Marissa share how they both recently went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp to witness Tom Brady in all of his glory. Derek shares about his time at the new Grand Floridian Resort Rooms (spoiler, he’s obsessed with them) and how blessed he was to meet up with so many incredible World of DVC Show viewers at Walt Disney World over the past few weeks, including some Guests from Ireland! The team gets hungry talking about some of their favorite foods at Disney and some new restaurants they have tried. We round out our love for the Food & Wine Festival with our team from the Indianapolis offices who share their favorites. This may leave you needing a snack.

After some market updates, including the latest on the 2022 ROFR monster, the team discusses how excited they are about this month’s ‘prize’. World of DVC will DONATE $10 on behalf of YOU, the best audience in the WORLD to Give Kids The World for every “Thumbs Up/Subscriber/Comment”

The team welcomes Special Guest: Steven Amos, Vice President of Advancement, Give Kids the World!

Since 1986, Give Kids The World Village has welcomed more than 177,000 families from all 50 states and 76 countries. The Village is made possible by the support of generous donors and community partners, as well as thousands of passionate volunteers – who donate their time and talent making wishes come true.

Steven shares the inspiring story of how he went from being a proud “cheese-head” born and raised in Wisconsin, to wearing that beloved Disney nametag working for the Walt Disney World Resort in theme park operations, to Disney Cruise Line marketing, and finally to Give Kids the World. Steven’s incredible behind the scenes Disney stories is sure to make you smile and leave a heart print as he shares the many accomplishments and milestones Give Kids the World has achieved. This show touched our hearts and is sure to warm your heart like no other show has ever done!

  1. I will be at D23 next month. I live right behind Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. I am a San Francisco Native. I volunteered for Measure J (Levi’s Stadium). I went door to door to get out the vote for our new stadium. I know that Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers grew up Niner fans. It was there dream to play for the Niners. How I wish there dreams came true. I am also a Niners season ticket holder. I have a 20 minute walk to Levi’s Stadium. Go Niners! Go Warriors! Are you now on Dis Unplugged every other week? Good bye from the San Francisco Bay Area.

  2. My first exposure to GKTW was through The Dis, but I saw Steven Amos for the first time through The Dis N' That Beverly Challenge. I am amazed at how much this organization does.
