β€œAs state investigators piece together how a woman placed in a police cruiser was hit by a train after an officer parked the cruiser on the tracks, 9NEWS has learned more about the woman and potential charges against the officers involved.

β€œShe was frantically trying to get out,” personal injury attorney Paul Wilkinson told 9NEWS. β€œOf course, the doors were locked.”

Wilkinson said his client, Yareni Rios-Gonzalez, 20, is conscious and able to talk after Friday’s incident in which a Platteville Police Department officer pulled her over on suspicion of road rage with a gun.”

  1. Attempted murder from the cops. The police parking on the tracks is total unbelievable. The train crew should sue as well. I’m an engineer so striking a vehicle leaves you with live long trauma.

  2. Cenk say it. This woman is Hispanic they didn't care about her life because she's brown. Black people aren't the only people who face police brutality. They probably didn't even find anything in her car. They cuffed her without reason. Hispanic people get treated like this all the time. People assume you're guilty because you're Latin

  3. Unfortunately, since the victim lived… and the lovely "Blue Shield" will probably promote both officers to a higher command, where their genius can affect the masses, possibly —- for more victims to lay in their wake… you got to love that qualified immunity! 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣

  4. I'm not buying the statement released. by police that they released the video to show they are transparency BS They had no choice but to release it bcos the odds weighed heavily against Ithem and essentially trying to distant themselves from the officers conduct "boy you now on your own men"

  5. My man what do you think about the officer who runs away ?he was talking to her but ran when the train was near leaving her to die to save himself I think she was belted in as well and couldnt escape reminded me of uvalde and sandy hook coward cops

  6. I will not comment upon the woman in the police vehicle. What I find interesting is that these "alleged" law enforcement officers deliberately parked a taxpayer owned vehicle over a train track. They, without any thought, but deliberately, placed this vehicle in a situation where it could be written off; and so it was. The fact that an individual who must be deemed innocent even though restrained was severely injured concerns me. The relevant "law enforcement" body is fully and totally responsible for her medical and related expenses arising from this stupidity.

  7. No, they did not find a gun! They found an empty holster in her car. They have also not proven she is the right person, or commited a crime either. These cops and many others like them have that us vs them mentality! They have the mindset that everyone they encounter are criminals so therefore whatever happens to them is deserving of someone who is criminal. They were so busy playing big bad cops that they put multiple other lives at significantly high risk of unnecessary death!
Not only should her bills be paid, but her future inability to work while she recovers, all fines and fees for her car being towed and stored while she has been hospitalized and recovering, and unable to drive, all living expenses while she is unable to work, or any potential of perminante disability she may have suffered, as we know she had a head injury among several other injuries. Plus any additional pain, trauma, and suffering she has suffered as a result of these cops blatant stupidity, and callous indifference to human life of multiple others!
Cause let's not forget about the train engineers who suffer emotional trauma as they know they're about to plough into an occupied vehicle. The risk of engineers own lives that this cop caused by forcing them to plough into a vehicle parked on the tracks, and the risk to any other citizens who could have been in the area or further along the tracks before the train was able to came to a stop.

  8. What those police officers did to her, handcuffing her and leaving their patrol car on the train tracks was not normal. This is complete negligence and could have been manslaughter, even if it was unintentional had she didn't survive the train striking their car with the suspect in it.
