Wolfsbane performing a track from their new album Genius: Spit It Out. On the first night of the tour in Blackpool, Blaze encouraged us all to film the song, put it online and turn “social media into Wolfsbane media”. I got my phone out, pressed record and after 5 seconds, without noticing, stopped recording – I didn’t realise until halfway through the song. I decided to make up for it in North Wales. I also captured the start of Ezy so that’s a nice bonus.
Blaze was suffering with allergies and asked us to scream in his stead. We tried our best but I don’t think anyone could match that scream at the start of this song (watch earlier live versions or, better yet, buy the album). Jase’s fractured vertebrae may have kept him stationary but it certainly didn’t slow his playing.
To the best of my knowledge Jeff and Steve were ok health-wise; they certainly played their socks off. It’s been an absolute pleasure to see them live. If you get the opportunity to see Wolfsbane, take it with both hands – you will not regret it.
