  1. Moment of Valor is actually a first time print. The card y'all were thinking of was Valorous Stance, which is similar, but different. Valorous Stance's first mode doesn't untap, and doesn't provide a power boost, and the second mode targets toughness not power. In exchange, it's a mana cheaper. Valorous Stance was in Fate Reforged, Jumpstart, Commander Legends, Double Masters, and Crimson Vow.

  2. I disagree with the mashing of the color pie, there's nothing to the colors otherwise. If every color does everything, why have the colors in the first place? Why have a colored mana?

MTG is built on the principle that the colors do different things, stop encouraging color breaks it will inevitably ruin the game. Increase the power level, yes, ok, but don't break the colors identity, why have colors then? The colors wouldn't mean anything.

  3. FIRE philosophy isn't that cards get better. FIRE is why Limited has less unplayables and commons and uncommons are actually able to contend with rares a lot more often. Also, Adam is talking about a Rare, one that does take 5 total mana to use both parts of it.

  4. All 5 of the full-art basics in this set are done by Hari & Deepti, and they're all physical paper cut lightbox pieces! They have some incredible pieces, highly recommend peeking at their work

  5. Cameron's face on the last card tells a story. I questioned why we went* rare to common, but the fact that he called us Unruly Catapults and opened one was pretty lucky. I hope he took advantage of this luck on the day of recording. Thanks for the great opening you two.

  6. Re: Cam mentioning the Assassin post first strike damage – a friend of mine runs a pauper deck full of pingers/first strike and You Are Already Dead effects. Still in testing but it means that you can never block his creatures effectively. It may not be good but it’s GREAT
