AEMO ‘hoodwinking’ Australian people over governments ‘renewable obsession’

National Senator Matt Canavan has slammed the Australian Energy Market Operator for “hoodwinking” the Australian public into thinking the government’s renewable “obsession” is a cheap option.

“AEMO modelling is started with the assumption that we have to get to net zero emissions by 2050,” Mr Canavan said.

“It doesn’t actually measure that the 82 per cent target … is lower cost than say.”

  1. Ten thousand a battery for 8 years thats over a thousand a battery a year…then tax WoW… imagine what I'am thinking 🤔. Making sure i have a curcit so they cant feed from my battery and it supply's most lighting power supply but 3phase and when it drops below operating use it will transfer to the grid system can i tax them that one or radio meter readers a digital frequency copy off your power use with home check supply to make sure your not being short changed.

  2. this will all happen again when the wind turbines need replacing. How much for replacing blades etc when they also need replacing. They dont care in the least how much it will cost us ,they are only interested in showing the world how great they are at net zero. When will the wind tax come in,. its just a huge money making con for the rich who invest in this ideal. What a deciet when they could have put all that money into homes and infrastructure ,hospitals etc.

  3. This Solar tax is a huge scam to benefit the power companies, they should be responsible for upkeep, not us by paying some BS tax, I have invested in 2 batteries and can still export Solar at times. Why isn’t someone doing something about this scam, utter ripoff, politicians take note on this issue. 😳🇦🇺👎

  4. The Energy Market Operator was not briefed on how to answer any questions of enquiry on all topics………"I aaaaah……..thank the Honourable Senator for the question and I'll "Take it on notice!!" (You idiot) And no answer ever comes. I bet the poor honest guy not used to lying, is no longer employed.

  5. Labor has put our national security at risk for years to come. Our energy system is extremely vulnerable to current and future geopolitically unrest. Assuming Bowen succeeds in implementing a his crackpot renewable energy system, we will be beholden to China for solar panels, wind turbines and lithium storage batteries for many years, if not, for ever. Even now we have to import gas to prop up the current system. All these components will have to be progressively replaced as they coming to end of life. Total replacement every 15 years. Where will we source them from if China becomes displeased with us? Not Australia.

  6. Anyone in AEMO, that has any role in decisions affecting Australian consumers, should have to list their investment interests, before being allowed to make those decisions. Only neutral people(family included) with no investment in any of the energy sectors should be part of the process. I say hand it back to the states.

  7. The truth is finally out there, and so why aren’t we expecting this government handing in their resignation. This was a real lie and has been from the start. How can Australians accept this treasonous action from a government that mislead and misinform the people

  8. Our real earth, not the one of the Paris agreement, craves more carbon, not less.
When carbon levels were correct and oh, soooo much higher, we grew trees up into the sky that created a canopy, the evidence of which is everywhere as plateaus with sides like cliffs, as up near Toowoomba.
Ignoring accurate history will not produce any benefit, and nor will cutting carbon.
The earth renews it's oil storage supplies, so it has been proven, and if we do not use it, it may become a problem for the future.
There is so much coal also that should be used up and returned to the surface.
Using science to create fanciful climate change theories is just political skuldudgery designed to put mankind/earth's slaves under controls for the benefit of the elite descendants of the Ananarchy who came from out there to take over God's earth.
Wake up, Adam/Eve….you need to take back what God created you for.

  9. If their imposing a sun tax to promote buying household batteries, then why do we need a renewables grid? Wouldn't it be a better idea to use that money to put solar panels and batteries in every household? I wonder what the costing of that would be compared to the reckless path the government has committed us to travel. At $10 000 a battery, we could put 1200 batteries in 1200 homes, for the same cost as 1 wind turbine!!! Makes better to me?

  10. The investigation will reveal without a doubt that by 2050 this renewable farce will cost this country trillions of dollars, and much more as they have not even scratched the surface on what they plan to build in regard to wind and solar. The Gen cost report only factored what an investor would face as a cost as all the transmission was a sunk cost in other words already built by 2030, so oh my we have a long way to go to 2050 and transmission will be our cost on our bills.

  11. Labor Party has no excuse for not knowing renewables are costly and unreliable as other countries have abandoned their big renewable projects and the fact have been covered by the media. Now they are planning to punish people who believed in their "climate change" propaganda and installed solar panels by charging them next year for producing electricity.
