The city council meeting was very entertaining today. We first were entertained with someone who wants to bring things back to the 70’s (because they were so great) where landlords were not bothered by the city for “petty” repairs like hot water, air conditioning or leaking roofs. Then we get the cat-lady who wants her three kids to live in a world where stray cats get free surgery, even though humans don’t get that level of care. I am glad that they got the chance to speak, but the issues were a little obscure for the amount of time spent on them.
I really like the plans for the wetlands park on Maize, but I feel a little sneaky spying on the unsuspecting water fowl.
The staff member that presented 2024 Annual Agency Plan and 2024-2028 Capital Fund Grant Five-Year Action Plan Estimate did an outstanding job in speaking and replying with facts to any question directed to her.
As far as council member travel, I am not against it if it is for a productive purpose, but that purpose was not stated by Blubaugh and Frye regarding their Vegas trip.
