A new season begins for Age of Wonders 4, and it’s kicking off with a roar! The new “Ways of War” DLC and free Tiger Update not only add new forms and cultures to the game, but completely rework heroes in the best possible way! So of course I took this opportunity to pledge myself to break as much stuff as possible.

  1. There were the three different Oathsworn factions at war from the Presence Trait but that got messed up when the Intrigue Event replaced the Righteousness one with the Daemon aligned with the Strife faction. Because of that I'm guessing the Harmony faction managed to get the four random factions into an defensive pact/alliance and when one decided that they didn't like you the rest were called into the war. So…props to wanting to uphold your oath and follow the new event chain but MAYBE you should of joined the burning crusade instead of destroying them and being left the sole prime evil of the world.
Also I get the feeling that Intrigue Events are a bit messed up in regards to diplomatic relations with pacts being kept when the leader flips over.

  2. Whenever you go hard into a chaos build, you're opening up bonuses that buff tier 1 units. It's okay to lose a couple fights if you win the war – such is the way of strife. Waves of monks enslaved to their masters will die, but they will first weaken the enemy for the warlord to claim glory.

  3. I think the new tier 1 dual tome could be pretty good with Industrial civs because they get retaliate bonus's on their units and their tier 3 and taunt I think so it could stack nicely with them. Add on the bulwark species trait or the deal fire damage when hit one and maybe the tier 1 tome of the tentacle for the infinite retalite spell and that could be a fun early game build. Also frostfire arrows could be fun for a barbarian khan style build with mounted archers that doesn't need materium for the forge which is cool for variety.

  4. Seeing this is making me wish more and more that you could use different unit appearances with your cultures. because these are basically Samurai. Imagine if you got the Magelock with the top end units of this lot.
