  1. Risen 1 was the best and had so much potential with it's postapocalyptic world. Risen 2 and 3 didn't even nearly use that potential. Risen 3 though had some moments were I at least thought it was good for it's own. But two big disappointments ruined my entire experience. First the meeting with the old hero. In German they didn't use the same voice actor as for Risen 1 and 2. Therefore the "Oh hey, it's you" effect didn't work for me. I was quite angry at that moment. The seond issue was that simple and very bad ending for a trilogie. After all that you just left the bossfight and sail away? Really?

After these bad sequels and the reviews of Elex 2 I lost my trust in Piranha Bytes. Unfortnatelly I preordered Elex 2 because I liked the hings they showed in marketing but I don't know if I should play it for real because it could also influence my perspective of Elex 1. I think the ending of Elex 1 was quite good.

  2. You hit the nail on the head. They should improve on what they made instead of trying to reinvent the wheel every time they release a new game. Just look at Larian or FROM software. They have been making the same game for like a decade now and they found tremendous success that neither of them expected.

  3. Main character was goofy in a good way. He tried so hard to be a badass it was cringe and pretty charming at the same time but the longer you play, the more you begin to actually like his character

  4. Of all PB games, INCLUDING Risen 2, this was the only one I couldn't even 50%, much less finish. The locations are lovely, the setting is genuinely cool, but man, the level of cringe with the protagonist and his stupid ass voice and dialogues, the utterly soullesly mindlessly boring combat – I just couldn't do it. I tried like five times. Including two times with mods. But there's just no helping the game, honestly. It's just not worth it. To anyone watching this video – play literally ANY OTHER PB GAME, trust me – it'll be worth it more.

  5. I played this for about 15 hours years ago but the performance on base PS4 was mediocre. I should give this game another try on PS5, as I really disliked Elex because of the difficulty (not supported by a solid combat system) and generally for the bland setting. Risen 3 has these vibrant colors instead and a lighter approach that is much more appealing to me

  6. I still really want to play Risen 2. I love pirates, and the setting of ships, and coast lines. I’ve only played Risen 1. I wonder if I could still like R2

  7. The fact that Risen 1 is closest to Gothic (we all live Gothic) does not make it the best Risen game. I played all 3 of them, and I must say that Risen 2 and 3 are better than the first one in a different way
Risen 2 is much more consistent and immersive, while Risen 3 has more depth and diversity. The melee combat is not the best, but once you get used to it, it becomes a pleasure. The lock picking in Risen 2 is pure pleasure, as well as the ranged combat. Risen 3 offers good ranged combat and a great mix of magic and melee. Your assessment is simply false.
